Ehh

I had such a hard time finishing this story. It didn’t hold my attention. The female narrator spoke very quickly. Lots of repetitive lines.

Good story line, iffy narration, bad sound editing

I enjoyed the book and story line but it did have some flaws. What I found most distracting was Wendy Zier's narration; it was too fast. More than once I had to check to see if the playback was at 1.25 x instead of 1.0 x speed. Another reviewer remarked that the female narrator didn't change her voice much to represent the other character's lines and I would agree. She also did not pause between paragraphs where the characters points of view changed which was confusing. This was exacerbated by the poor sound editing which was clipped so tight with no pauses between chapters - there was not even enough pause for a breath between one chapter and the next in the narration - even when the narrators changed. A really bad sound editing style. By contrast, Nathan Avant's narration was great.

Good read or listen lol

I liked the story a lot what she had to get through and the fact that she fell for the one guy that made sure she was safe after the worst thing to ever happen to her

Great book

Loved it! Very detailed and kept my interest. The only thing I was not crazy for was the female narrator. Wendy Zier has a great voice for it but she didn't capture the character enough. Being that these narrators have to do both male and female characters, she just didn't meet my expectations. Other than that it was good

Good story line

The story line is good I got pulled in right away. First time hearing both of the narrators, Nathan Avant as Ace was believable, and he changed his voice for the other male and female voices, which in my opinionis a huge plus. Wendy Zier as Ally was good, but she didn't change her voice when reading the males characters. I would get confused, who was supposed to be talking and had to rewind ofter to figure who was saying what. This made Addy's chapters drag. I have listened to a lot of books and there are better female performers. But all in all I liked the book.

Just OK

I really liked the storyline a ton. The ideas here are excellent. I’m not sure if it’s the mediocre narration or if it’s the writing, but I’m just not in love with this book. I typically steer clear of human trafficking stories, but there is not a ton of story time dedicated to the specifics of that. The story is more about the FMC living under the radar (she is presumed dead) while running a nonprofit for women with addictions to get back on their feet. It’s a good story, like I said, but between the lackluster narrator and the not-stellar writing it misses the mark.
