About this listen

The stunning conclusion to the best-selling Curtis Black series

The past never stays where it belongs....

Curtis Black is no stranger to scandal. Throughout the decades, he has done much in the public eye, both good and evil. But what most people don't realize is that Curtis has been hiding a horrific childhood that has affected him in countless, unspeakable ways.

His buried past returns in an unwelcome visit when his estranged sister becomes alarmingly ill and his youngest child, 12-year-old Curtina, becomes the kind of problem daughter that he never imagined she could be. This is only the beginning. The horror of Curtis's childhood secrets, as well as Curtina's wild and rebellious behavior, takes a critical toll on Curtis and the entire Black family. All the public scandals they've experienced over the years now seem like child's play compared to the turmoil they are facing in private. Who could have known that the deepest wounds would come from within?

I have read every book in the Curtis Black series and it has finally ended!! It is bittersweet. There were some great messages in this book and it was ok. It did not have too much drama like the previous ones but I still liked it. I finished in one day.

The end is finally here

I have read all of Kimberla Lawson Roby's books. I have enjoyed most of them. However, this one is one of her best. Ms. Roby is at the top of her game. I hated for it to end. I wish this was not the conclusion of the Curtis Black series. I'm going to miss him!

Excellent

This was the best book out of the entire series . I’m so sad to see this series end but I pray she will continue writing individual novels . As far as this book goes, I’m so glad that Curtis was able to get past the awful things that happened in his childhood and actually forgave his parents. This past Sunday, our church discussed the importance of forgiveness . Such an awesome way to end the journey off .

Awesome

Great ending to the Curtis Black series! Curtina had me trying to jump into the book & tell her a thing or 3!

Loved it!

This book was not as big on a twisted storyline. Rather it was more about bringing the family full circle and relating to readers who struggle with deep and long term pain. I truly enjoyed it and felt sad it was the last book of the series.

Sad this is the Last One
