Publisher's summary

When an undercover assignment ends up literally under the covers....

As part of the Tri-State Federal Task Force, Daniel Finnegan, road captain for the Blue Avengers MC, is investigating the Deadly Demons, an MC trafficking drugs into Pennsylvania. When he reluctantly goes undercover as a dancer with an all-male revue at a club recently purchased by the outlaw bikers, he comes face to face with Melina Jensen.

As manager of The Peach Pit, Mel could be an important asset for the drug task force with her unfettered access behind the scenes. Unhappy with the way the Demons are destroying the business, it doesn’t take much for Finn to convince Mel to work with him as a confidential informant. Even though becoming a CI for the task force isn’t without risk, Mel’s willing to help in any way she can.

To give Finn better access to The Peach Pit and the illegal dealings without raising any red flags with the MC, they start to “date.” Only, what starts out as a fake relationship ends up being anything but. Until eventually, neither can no longer dance around the truth.

However, once Mel’s safety is threatened, it’s up to Finn to find a way to protect her without blowing the entire investigation.

Note: Beyond the Badge: Finn is the second book in the Blue Avengers MC series. It’s highly recommended to listen to this six-book action/adventure series in order due to the continuing story arcs (subplots). However, each book focuses on a different couple who gets their HEA. This series has no cheating or relationship cliffhangers.

Cool, sexy

This was an unexpected storyline that I ended up enjoying a lot!
Too many times women (and men) in the stripping profession get a really bad reputation. It was nice to hear a story that expresses their side.
The narrators were great, the sex was hot and the characters were real

liked it a lot

I really thought this was a good book. This story has a great story line. The narration was a little cheese in parts but still good.

Finn & Mel!!

As the Deadly Demons MC begin to add cash businesses to their club, the joint task force begins their next phase of taking the Demons drug ring down. The latest acquisition, the Peach Pit is a stripper club and Finn goes undercover to find out if there is money laundering and drug sales going on. Mel has managed the club for years. Looking forward to taking it over, the Demons came through, taking that opportunity away from her and leaving her with the day to day, no questions asked workload. Gorgeous, smart and tired of the new regime, she is more than fed up with the situation. When Finn starts hanging around, it doesn't take long to know she may be the key to helping the task force. As her new fake boyfriend, the two begin their quest, but find that the pretend may be more than they realized! Danger, twists and turns and passion igniting, Jeanne St James once again had my earbuds glued in for a nonstop listen! It's edgy and exciting with a strong woman at the helm! Mel is a fantastic character, with guts and bravery that is second to none. I love that she is beautiful and graceful in one scene and taking down a Demon in the next! Finn's opening scene on the stage set the book for me. Hot, sensual and ready to rumble! Plus there is some ribbing for the Blue Avengers when it comes to the new couple! Love the bits of humor and camaraderie. It's building up and I cannot wait to see where St James's mind takes us next! This is going to be a great series!

Ava Lucas and Dane Anderson tell the story and boy, do they tell it! Lucas is a master at climbing in the mind of her characters. Mel is tough and it comes through as she takes on her boss and the Demons. Then she comes in dancing on a pole with sensuality that is mind numbing! Fantastic! Dane Anderson is perfectly cast as Finn. He has sex appeal when it comes to the women, but his loyalty and protectiveness is steadfast, all through nuances of his voice. This combination is exactly what I could picture in my mind and they made the hours fly by.

Great listen

Jeanne St James is great at giving us so many new stories and worlds to dive into - this is no different. The Blue Avengers MC, an MC made up of law enforcement. So many characters bring this one to life but Finn & Mel are a fun and smart couple.
Undercover cop as a stripper? Awesome.
Sex positive strong AF woman? Yes Please.
Fun and engrossing story with fantastic narration.

Disappointed

Having loved the Dirty Angels and Blood Fury MC's series, I had high expectations for this spin-off. Sadly, something is missing. Perhaps not enough story building? Dialogue and relationships feel stilted and boring - forced comraderie. None of the characters are "cool" or "sexy", they come off as trying to act that way, and it's uncomfortable to listen.

The female narrator saved the listen. She pulled off male characters with true acting ability. Male narrator was a monotone automaton - I could barely tolerate his portion of the book.

Do not plan on checking out the rest of the series unless I see narrators I recognize because IMO, the storyline needs them.
