Publisher's summary

When two broken halves come together to forge one unbreakable whole…

Officer Bradley Lennox, aka Nox, has been living in the shadows of his own grief since the unexpected loss of his wife. Just when he was finally on the road to recovery, they found Sadie in a motel in Ohio, causing his world to spiral back into darkness.

Concerned for their fellow Blue Avenger, his MC brothers issue an ultimatum: accept help or risk losing his job as an officer with the Shadow Valley PD and his spot on the Tri-State Federal Drug Task Force. They hope it’ll compel Nox to free himself of the heartbreak consuming him.

Then Aaliyah, a widow and single mother, takes over running the grief group he’s forced to attend. Knowing the pain of loss all too well, her determination to help Nox reignites the hope of him getting better. But it also sparks a connection he didn’t see coming.

However, their journey is far from easy.

Nox is resistant to fully embracing a new beginning, despite Aaliyah's unwavering perseverance. To make matters more complicated, her father is the sergeant at arms for the Dark Knights MC and harbors a deep-seated hatred for law enforcement.

While Nox struggles to forge a brighter future for himself, for the task force, the stage is set for a violent showdown. A war erupts between two ruthless factions: the Deadly Demons MC and La Cosa Nostra, posing a threat to Nox’s fragile peace.

Especially when someone he cares about gets caught in the crossfire.

Note: Beyond the Badge: Nox is the sixth book in the Blue Avengers MC series. It’s HIGHLY recommended to listen to this six-book action/adventure series in order due to the continuing story arcs (subplots). However, each book focuses on a different couple who gets their HEA. This series has no cheating or relationship cliffhangers.

Such a wonderful, heartwarming but tragic love story. This story will make you laugh, cry and just love the characters.

Nox is a man that lost all he loved and cared about. Aaliyah is a woman who has also lost a loved one but has overcome the loss. The narrators were fabulous. Played their parts perfect. I cried and laughed. This book is perfectly written and told. A must read and listen.

I loved it

Beyond the Badge: Nox Is book 6 and the last book in the Blue Avengers MC series. I enjoyed this book so much I listen to it twice before writing this review, It was just that good I couldn't help myself. This is Nox and Aaliyahs story. Nox Is an Officer In the Shadow Valley PD and a member of the Blue Avengers MC He is struggling with grief from the loss of his wife who passed away 2 years ago . Nox meets Aaliyah at a grief counseling group and she finds a way to help him start his healing. Aaliyahs father is Magnum from the Dark Knights MC I love this because he's one of my favorite characters from Magnum: A Dark Knights MC crossover book. There is so much to the story I was definitely surprised more than once. This story is exciting, emotional ,it has action and romantic heat. I laughed, I cried I really enjoyed the story. I'd say it has become one of my new favorites. Jeanne St James is a awesome author and I'm totally addicted to all her books I can't wait for the next. The narration was done by Ava Lucas and Connor Crais they performed the story perfectly

What a ending!

Beyond the Badge: Nox
Blue Avengers MC, Book 6
By: Jeanne St. James
Narrated by: Ava Lucas, Connor Crais

I am never ready for one of Jeanne St James's series to end, but listening to Nox's story gave me the closure I needed for this task force. Nox is a mess. Still grieving over the death of his wife and daughter, his colleagues are concerned about his well being. Forcing him to go to a grieving group and for therapy to deal with his grief is not how he wants to spend his time. But when Aaliyah takes over the group, and doesn't let him stay hiding in the back, everything begins to change. Aaliyah has her own ghosts, and though she has had more time to deal with her grief, she still feels that twinge. Now as she works with Nox after hours, he begins to come to terms with his loss. The task force is coming to it's end, and now with things he has seen and new concerns, Nox isn't quite sure he's done with his tasks. When things take a turn and danger comes straight to him, he teams up with the unlikeliest of people. How does it all end? This story packs a punch, that is for sure. St James compassionately deals with relevant situations, breaths new life and love into family, and brings people I love in to keep that feeling of crazy family and community. The crossovers are one of the things I absolutely love about the different series. This is fabulous, passionate, tear jerking and the best listen I have had in a long time.

Ava Lucas and Connor Crais are the story tellers and this team could not be better cast. Aaliyah is ambitious, spunky, and passionate. Her personality is strong yet vulnerable and Ava Lucas plays her perfectly. Each scene is a different emotion and played out as if I was there feeling it. Connor Crais is Nox and this man is layered. He hides behind so much, and as the story goes, Crais begins to use his nuances to play out peeling those layers back. I loved this pairing as always and loved every minute of their performance.

Nox and Aaliyah

This was my 1st book by author Jeanne St. James. I have not read any of the earlier books in the Beyond the Badge series or in any of her other series. I was motivated to buy/listen because of narrators Connor Crais and Ava Lucas. (Note: To aid in keeping characters and crossover characters straight, I also bought the e-book.)

I really enjoyed this story. It had everything I love --
action, suspense, tons of heart, humor, crazy good banter, chemistry, some spice/heat. Heroes that are ex-military, security service, and/or law enforcement are a favorite of mine. This story of loss, grief, and healing was wonderful and made me cry, smile, reflect, and hope. Connor and Ava's voice acting was excellent as always. Connor is so good that in the prologue, when Nox's Blue Avenger brothers stage an intervention, there are about ten or so guys talking, and even though I know what Connor's voices sound like, I temporarily forget that it's not multiple narrators. It just never fails to amaze me how Connor and Ava bring characters and stories to life and in the process move and affect me each and every time I listen or re-listen!
I also loved the hopeful ending and the quote about grief at the end.

Love & Grief

The quote by Jimmy Buffet about grief. “ Grief is like a wave behind a boat it’s so big it will swallow you up if you stop moving forward but in time it will calm down”. As a widow that has struggled with grief it does calm down. I throughly Love this book & series.
