In one decisive moment, Cameron Townsend understood that God had called him to translate the Bible into the language of his Guatemalan friends. For Cam, the obstacles were small when compared to the growing reward of helping the diverse people of Guatemala, Mexico, and Peru read God's life-changing Word for themselves. Quick on his feet and slow to give up, Cam started Wycliffe Bible Translators with the dream of making the Good News available in every language. Since 1942, Wycliffe has translated Scripture into hundreds of languages, spreading God's Word to people all over the world.

But underneath the surface lurked a terrible darkness.

George Muller stared at the beggar girl. She was no older than five and was piggybacking her little brother. Her mother had died in the cholera epidemic sweeping England. Her father had never returned from the mines. Standing in the muddy street, this little girl gave a face to Bristol's countless orphans. With scarcely enough food or money for his own family, George Muller opened his heart and home. Sustained by God's provision, the Muller house "Breakfast Club" of thirty orphans grew to five large houses that ultimately over ten thousand children would call home.

But as it turned out, this young agnostic’s life was redirected―from crisis and doubt to hope and strength. Convinced that God wanted her to preach the gospel as a China Inland missionary, Isobel bravely served among the Lisu people in remote mountainous regions of China and Thailand. To Love and Be Loved is a firsthand account of Mother Teresa’s last years, and the first book ever to detail her dealings with worldly matters. We see her gracefully navigate the opportunities and challenges of leadership, the perils of celebrity, and the humiliations and triumphs of aging. We also catch her indulging in chocolate ice cream, making jokes about mini-skirts, and telling the president of the United States he’s wrong. Above all, we see her extraordinary devotion to God and to the very poorest of His children.

There's a Sheep in My Bathtub chronicles the adventures of the Hogan family as they try to follow God's leading into one of the world's most remote and mysterious enclaves. Disarmingly honest and charmingly humorous, their tale will thrill you and bring tears to your eyes. An intensely personal memoir, this book still manages to pack a powerful dose of missionary insight and biblical principles for seeing the Church explode into life among peoples that have never even heard of Jesus.

Good biography of a great man-Billy Graham
The book is one of many I've read of or about Billy Graham, and I've enjoyed them all. This one has a tortuously slow, dirge-like rendition of the first few lines of "Just As I Am" at the beginning of each chapter. I love old hymns, but this got very annoying.

A compelling listening experience and biography
Would you consider the audio edition of Billy Graham: A Biography of America's Greatest Evangelist to be better than the print version?
I've not read the book so I cannot judge this.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Billy Graham: A Biography of America's Greatest Evangelist?
The stories selected around Billy Graham's early life that describe those aspects forming and shaping him into the world's greatest evangelist read more like fiction than fact. This is a GOOD thing and kept me interested start to finish.
Have you listened to any of Andrew L. Barnes’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. But this performance stands on its own as quite good in contrast to other audio books.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and it was a perfect accompaniment to a long road and flight business trip.
Any additional comments?
W. Terry Whalin demonstrates once more what makes him a good writer and storyteller. His passion on the subject is obvious, and his ability to hold any listener's interest is unswerving. He presents the facts but leaves supposition and conjecture out of it, letting the reader just enjoy the history. Great book and an incomparable biography of the late, great Billy Graham.

not what I was hoping
If you are looking for a book that gives a personal account on who Billy Graham really was, this book may disappoint you. While there were details of his life given, I feel this book centered mostly on the details of Graham's ministry. I realize Graham's ministry was a large party of who he was, I feel I was just given facts. No heart. I was hoping to be drawn into the life of Billy Graham, and learn more about the husband and father he was, instead it was all about where he traveled.
