It's not easy to forget...

This book really made me think about how our memories shape who we are. That classic argument of Nature vs. Nurture. And is it easier to remember or forget? Who is better off? Those who don't remember who they are? Or those who still remember everything?

Loved it!

Very captivating story & great narration. I’ll admit I got very emotional at the end... not a spoiler 😀

Great Story

Happy and sad. Helps us see what children can do when others are not around to confuse or betray. Left to their own devices, they can make good decisions

wow!

My 15 year-old son asked me to download this story for our daily drives to and from school which is about 30 minutes one-way from our home. Along with my 13 year-old son, my boys and I were captivated nearly from the beginning, often ending our commute with "a driveway moment," where we waited in the car for "just a few more minutes," to enjoy just a bit more of Hirsch's enthralling tale of love, loss, forgiveness, and the bittersweet celebration of memory.

Interesting and inventive story.

Really enjoyed the story, but I've never been a fan of this narrator. it took a while to get past the voice, but once I did I was hooked on the tale. Wish there was a sequel or a prequel.

Not as good as his other YA books.

I was really looking forward to this book, because I loved Darkest Path. Unfortunately, there was a lot less action in this one. Lots of psychological stuff that I don't think will hold the interest of many middle school, male readers.

Excellent!

I liked the book but I wanted more. So many things left unanswered. The kid should have answered questions truthfully.

gave it to chapter 5. Couldn't figure out where it was going, had no interest in finding out.
