About this listen

Nobody knew where it had come from, or what it wanted. Not even Jaive, the sorceress, could fathom the mystery of the fabled beast. But Tanaquil, Jaive's completely unmagical daughter, understood it at once. She knew why the unicorn was there: It had come for her. It needed her. Tanaquil was amazed because she was the girl with no talent for magic. She could only fiddle with broken bits of machinery and make them work again. What could she do for a unicorn? I love this book. The characters are loveable, the story engaging and just an overall great read. I just wish Audible had treated this title with more respect by arranging for or obtaining a properly performed read for this. The autoreader does a fairly ok job, but there are parts that are weirdly run together and some mispronunciations throughout. For those who dislike how automated readers sound, there is just enough of that in the affect of this reader to throw you off.

If this is your only way of getting this book I'd say go for it if the above is not at issue. The story is wonderful. Hopefully we'll eventually get the other two volumes in this series.

An Excellent Book Not given the love it deserves
