About this listen

This audiobook presents evidence suggesting collusion between US and Israeli intelligence in the attack on a US naval surveillance vessel during the Six-Day War and the more than 50-year long cover-up.

On June 8, 1967, the USS Liberty, an unarmed intelligence ship reporting to the Joint Chiefs of Staff under the auspices of the National Security Agency, was positioned in international waters off the coast of Egypt when it was attacked with deadly violence by unmarked jet planes firing rockets and machine guns and throwing napalm onto its deck. This ambush was followed by a torpedo strike that blew a forty-foot hole in the starboard side of the ship. Lacking the capacity to defend themselves, 34 sailors were killed and 174 wounded, many for life. By the end of the day, Israel had confessed to having been the aggressor, simultaneously arguing that the attack had been an "accident" and a "mistake."

The facts said otherwise. So intense and sustained was the attack - it lasted for nearly an hour and a half - so specific was the aiming for the antennae and satellite dish on deck, that it was scarcely credible that Israel's aggression was not deliberate; such was the view of Marshall Carter, the director of the National Security Agency, his deputy director Louis Tordella, and Richard Helms, the Director of Central Intelligence.

Based on interviews with more than 40 survivors, knowledgeable political insiders, and Soviet archives of the period, investigative writer Joan Mellen presents evidence suggesting complicity between US and Israeli intelligence in the attack on Liberty and the more than 50-year long cover-up. What were the underlying motives? Was this a false flag operation conducted in the midst of the Six-Day War? Was it conceivable that Israel would have initiated such an operation without a green light from the United States?

For the sake of justice, truth and the murdered and surviving sailors, this is a story demanding to be told.

False Flag this!

Finally, an illuminating, well documented study of US / Israeli False Flag CONSPIRACY (yes, that is what they have been doing)
Here are the individual stories of those unfortunate American seamen who were sacrificed by LBJ and the United States Navy for the benefit of Israel, and at the hand of Israelis.
The idea that the Israelis used napalm against American soldiers is sickening.

Exhaustive research great book great writing

I was excited to see Joan Mellen had written a book about the USS Liberty because I had read her book about the JFK assassination "A Farewell to Justice" that breaks down Jim Garrison and the case he brought to court. I know her work to be meticulous and researched extremely well. No surprise that she keeps to her high standards in this book as well . She goes in depth about James Jesus Angleton and his part in the conspiracy . You can verify these facts in another great book "The Ghost The Secret Life of CIA Spymaster James Jesus Angleton " which is available as an Audible release. She goes into detail about the Lavon Affair and Operation Susannah. There are scores of other great books that prove her facts on this topic is accurate . I can recommend "Operation Susannah"by Aviezer Golan . I think you get the point. The details about Ben-Gurion, Yitzhak Rabin, Levi Eshkol and Gen. Moshe Dayan are just some directly involved in the incidents occurring just before the attack on the USS Liberty . There is a whole subsequent cover up by both US and Israeli government and intelligence. The only fact that the other review I read is about the performance , it is a bit on the slow side but that's easy to rectify. Highly recommended Enjoy !

Excitingly Compelling Narration

it's a great story that reveals the horrible truth with ample evidence of what actually happened to the USS Liberty, and is narrated in a very compelling fashion.

a must read

anyone interested in what the politics of the United States actually are should absolutely read this book. It is a dark statement on the nature of the criminal clandestine state and its collaboration with Israel. a perfect example of what happens when fascism is allowed to rule the day and no one is willing to stand up and tell the truth in the face of a few psychopaths with too much power. It is the truly a tale of treason from within the government itself and perfectly illustrates why America's special relationship with Israel should never have happened and must be unwound by future generations.

Phrases such as might have. Could be
All conditionals mean nothing
I Have a phd in history. Saying it only because I know scholarship
This isn’t. It seems like it is. But it isn’t
Worse is the narrative which even at 5x sounds slow. If they remake the Addams family ? Here’s your guy

Typical Conspiracy Theory

Unsupported theory that makes no sense. Could not listen past the third chapter.

Narrator uses poor accents throughout.
