About this listen

Fourth Installment in the Raine Stockton Dog Mystery Series: a short novella

Dog trainer Raine Stockton has lived all her life in the quiet community of Hansonville, North Carolina. She is the daughter of a judge, the niece of a sheriff, and the ex-wife of a deputy. She does not lead the kind of life, generally speaking, in which people get buried in her backyard. But when Cisco, Raine's mischievous golden retriever, digs up human bones beneath the site of what will soon be her new training kennel, mayhem ensues. With the state police swarming everywhere, references to a mass grave and suspicions of a serial killer, Raine is surrounded by chaos. But when her beautiful collie Majesty keeps disappearing and cryptic messages from a pet psychic only add to the confusion, Raine soon finds herself plunged into the midst of a mystery that is far too close to home. Can she and Cisco track down the truth before it's too late?

Great series!

This is the 4th book in a series and I loved it just like the first three! I like the characters, the story and the narrator is easy to listen to. Maybe I’m just a sucker for a good dog story! I highly recommend the series.

The ending snuck up on me!

I love this series, and hearing the conclusion after less than 10 chapters had me thinking "what the heck?!"
on to the next!

Even if you don't love dogs

This is the fourth installment of the Raine Stockton dog mysteries. This one finds Raine starting over in a number of ways. She's finalizing her second divorce from Buck who's the new sheriff due to her uncle's heart attack. she's improving and rebuilding her dog training and kennel facilities and a there's new man in her life; even though they're not dating, really.
However a heavy rain prevents the foundation from being poured and her Golden Cisco digs up a human bone. The investigation leads to solving one very old murder, and the answer to a mass grave found in a nearby county. Plus no dogs were hurt in the writing of this book or in this audio.
My biggest problem with this selection is that it is by far the shortest audible selection I've ever used a credit to purchase. Still I don't regret using this credit to purchase this one; it's an easy satisfying listen. Even if you don't love dogs.

Too Short but Entertaining

A bit predictable but still worth the read. I was disappointed in the lengh of the book and not quite ready for the story to end but it did.

faith

OUR dog is a family member who loves all of us. I understand that need to know where Cooper is and if he were lost I'd find an army to help me look for him. even like her in the book.

Bone Yard book 4 Raine Stockton

Sad Raine "loaned" Majesty to her aunt to help with loneliness but excited that these stories take the human canine relationship to that next level. The level of family not just the dog.

Suspenseful and heartwarming

I love this series! The characters are interesting but also realistic-- not stereotypes or shallow. The plot keeps me wanting to see what happens, but wishing it would go on longer. The ending is just right. I am eager to start the next one in the series.
Also, the narrator is superb!!!

OK story

I enjoyed the story, other than the dog Cisco being owned by a dog training facility and himself being routinely out of control. As a dog owner myself, I'm aware you always need to be aware of possible distractions. The dog is always dragging this way or that. Where is the training with this dog? The story was good though.
