About this listen

It's Christmastime in Skary, Indiana, but the holiday season has been hijacked by maverick director Lois Stepaphanopolis as she attempts to bring her horror-ific vision of A Christmas Carol to life. But the holly-decked path from page to stage is a thorny one, as Lois attempts to rally her skeptical cast, including new father Wolfe Boone, and then she learns that her reluctant marketing director, Alfred Tennison, is truly a Christmas Scrooge. Alfred's grassroots marketing plan proves more than successful as the buzz builds that Skary should anticipate an overflowing audience for their opening night - but a crucial miscommunication leaves the visiting theatergoers expecting of a very different Christmas production. As chaos ensues, can the actors pull off an improv miracle - and can the Skary community convince their own Scrooge to embrace the true meaning of Christmas?©2007 Rene Gutteridge (P)2009 Books In Motion Christian Fiction Genre Fiction Literature & Fiction Women's Fiction

I was very disappointed when I started to listen and found that the narrator was a woman (yeah I should have noticed that). Having listened to the 1st three narrated by Michael Taylor, this one doesn't come close.

I'm sorry but

Why do all the characters sound like 1920’s gangsters?!? The story is funny and entertaining like all of Rene Gutteridge’s books but I did not enjoy the narrator at all. The first 3 books were read by a man and he did a remarkably good job embracing the humor and absurdity of the stories. This time the atrocious accents were so distracting I couldn’t get into it. I gave up and decided to read a physical copy of the book myself.

Performance is confusing

Love the story and characters. Rene Gutteridge did a great job again. I was only disappointed that the narrator changed for this book. She did a good job. It's just the other narrator had developed the characters for me and it took awhile to get used to the new voices.

Not sure exactly how to rate

the narrator is still as bad as she was in 2009. I wish you would rerecord the book with a different narrator. maybe then I could make it to the end.

it's still as bad as the 1st time

I can't listen to her any longer; her fake New York accent is so bad. I have never written a review but felt compelled to do so in this case. I wish I could get my money back.

Laurie Klein's narration is HORRIBLE!
