About this listen

A shattered source. A broken realm. A false king.

It's all her fault.

Ten years after Elea wakes with no memories in a realm that forbids solar and lunar magics, she is faced with a choice that will alter her life forever.

She must decide whether to use her unusual, emotionally charged flame to survive or be taken by the murderous king’s men and sent to the capital for execution.

With the help of rouge lunar fae twins, Callista and Atlas, the fire fae narrowly escapes her brutal fate, only to be subjected to a new world of unknown trials.

Elea must learn to control her powerful abilities, cope with overwhelming grief, and navigate the unusual pull she feels toward the frustratingly standoffish Callista.

If the fire fae can learn to tame her wild fire, she could be the key the resistance needs to restore the balance of power in Celvaria and free the citizens of the realm from the king’s reign of terror.

Need the second book now

I loved this story! I can honestly say that I wasn’t sure how it was going to end and that is one of my favorite things. I also loved that we got a bonus Atlas chapter. I just hate that I’m going to have to wait so long for the next book.

This thing smacked me and I’m glad it did

The first part of this book brings you into a vague fae world with iffy relationships, the mc has amnesia and the first dude who found her, isolated her for 10 years and also dates her. I thought the author was going to play off the toxic nature of that and make that a part of the character, but no. She is sad over that relationship for the first part of the book. Mean while juggling our main love interest who she can’t talk to without interrogating while that love interest can’t stay still long enough to get 3 sentences out of. It’s a strangely slow introduction and follows tracks I’ve been on before, like the book Percy Jackson. Then “why choose” stuff happened between obvious love interest and her super sweet brother and I wanted to die. I had to read reviews to keep me invested and I kept wondering why they were so positive. They said the intro is 60% of the book. I’m glad I kept reading because that 60% was an evil plot. It was a manipulation the author put over me to lull me into a sense of security. I thought I knew how the book was going to end. Then she threw me a bone. I took the bone, then while I was distracted she smacked me with a massive ham. That was what reading this book was like, getting smacked with a delicious ham after hours of begging. That ham was SO worth trudging through the intro and now I am extremely invested in the series.

Fae Fantasy at its Finest

All around, this book was incredible. The narrator did a fantastic job pulling me into each of the characters. The author writes emotion in a way that makes me feel everything these characters are feeling. It’s truly a masterpiece.

If you love fae romance, make this your next read. It’s quick, the characters are diverse and complex, the story is exciting, and the author doesn’t pull punches.

You’ll quickly fall in love with Elea, Mage, Atlas, and Callista. I cannot wait for book two
