Good western story

I liked this book and the characters in it. Listening to it was a nice and easy. Cheyenne McCray puts some fun and some unexpected twists to her story which I love The narration was OK, but could be better.

Very enjoyable story.

I really enjoyed Meg and Ryan's story. The characters were all interesting and very likable. The story had a few twists that I definitely did not see coming, and I love when that happens. The author did a great job of keeping the story moving smoothly.

My only complaint would be the narrator. While his narration was clear and concise I felt like he made all of the characters sound like little old men and women, not at all in keeping with the characters ages. I love a gravelly voiced cowboy, but I think the story would have sounded much more realistic with someone with a much deeper voice.

I felt an immediate connection to Meg

Any additional comments?

I received an audible copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first Cheyenne McCray book, and my first audio book. Branded For You was a wonderful story, the characters likable and relatable. I felt an immediate connection to Meg, and attraction to Ryan, while the story had twists I did not see coming.

My only complaint would be the narration. David Quimby had excellent diction and his narration was well paced, but I couldn’t help feeling he would be better suited to a different story. Some of the voices made the characters sound far older than they were, and some of the content did not seem to match his vocal inflections.

Good Strong Man - Alllow Him To Overstep!

Megan is fresh off of a divorce, instigated by her husbands cheating. She decides that the best thing to do is to go home where her family lives. There she can take some time to figure out who she is and what she wants.

Megan's parents and sister have a successful restaurant business in town. But the owner of the only other restaurant in town wants to buy them out of their lease so that he can expand. Megan's family is adamant this is not going to happen. Megan throws all her energy into the restaurant, cooking, prepping and working as a waitress.

At the same time, the restaurant's fantastic sales drop off – due to some dishonest publicity. Megan's parents are in really big trouble if they cannot afford to pay their mortgage, which the restaurant as a lien against it.

After helping around the restaurant for a few days, a stunning, built, hot cowboy comes in. He is really nice and has no character flaws as far as anyone (including this listener) can find. Megan asked around and nobody has a poor opinion of him. He is a standup guy!

Ryan teaches her how to dance and is always complimenting her on her appearance (something she has had as a hang up on, her entire life.) Ryan eventually invites Megan to go camping with him for a weekend – separate tents, separate sleeping bags, etc.

When Meg gets home she finds out that her dad had had a heart attack. She immediately rushes to the hospital to be by his side and Ryan follows. There is a big element during that scene.

Will miscommunications, greed and everything else ruin this budding relationship?

There is a lot of 'good meat' in this book. The author does a fantastic job writing a story that is not cookie-cutter, in my opinion.

David Quimby, narrator, was very good, a solid performance. Especially as he has to maneuver between aging parents, their daughters, Ryan and the patrons of the restaurant as well as some bad guys. That's a lot and deserves to be recognized.

Notes: This is definitely for a reader 18 years or older, for its mature themes themes

Gotta Love A Cowboy

Would you listen to Branded for You again? Why?

Yes I will probably listen to it as much as I can. Cheyenne did a great job describing how hot the cowboy was and he was a sweet one made it better. I do love all her books. I can't wait to listen and read more of them. David also did a great job narrating it. The voice adds something to it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Meg because she reminds me of me. She was able to over come all her insecurities and fears with the help of a hot cowboy.

What about David Quimby’s performance did you like?

He's voice help paint a better picture of the characters. Love the way his voice really sounded like he was on the phone with the characters.

If you could rename Branded for You, what would you call it?

I'm not sure I would want to. I like all the titles.

Any additional comments?

All together it was a great book and I really can't wait for the rest of the series to come out to audio!!

A good one!

This one had much more excitement. I enjoyed learning about Megan who has trust issues and Ryan is..is well hotter than heck. I mean who rides his horse with NO SHIRT on?? Ryan does! He is actually a favorite character. He is kind and generous. Loves kids and he knew there was something special about Megan when he first saw her. These two have quite the adventure!

Easy listening western romantic suspense

---I have received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review

This is my first Cheyenne McCray book and found it very entertaining. The storyline of Meg's insecurities caused by her ex husband are fresh look at body types. Ryan, the sexy cowboy, meets Meg and is instantly attracted to her. I love that they click right away and he is continually praising her curves. As the story continues, we learn that Ryan has served Meg's parents with foreclosure papers, causing a huge misunderstanding. As things work out, there is more happening at the restaurant that Meg's mom owns. Ryan is able to help out with that. He is one of those warm sexy cowboys you cannot help but love. The storyline is somewhat predictable, but thoroughly enjoyable.

David Quimby is the perfect narrator for western romances. His accent is perfect, flow is easy to listen to and characters easily discernible. He made the story a wonderful listen.

A Surprisingly Good Romance

A good friend of mine gave me this book to read, well, more years ago than I can remember. I didn't have the heart to tell her that cowboy romance really didn't interest me. I'm more of a paranormal romance kinda gal. Well, I finally got around to reading it and was pleasantly surprised.

The characters were interesting on there own, as well as part of the ensemble. The story follows the standard romance plot line. Boy meets girl. They fall in love. There's a misunderstanding that pulls them apart, and finally a confrontation in which the misunderstanding is cleared up and boy & girl get back together. And let's not forget the best part, once their together, all the problems suddenly have solutions and they get their HEA. No Cliffhanger. No foreshadowing of another book to come, just a Happily Ever After ending and nothing more.

It's quite refreshing actually. A nice twist. No next book being thrown at you. Which makes me want to go look Ms. McCray up to check on other books by her even more! How Diabolical!! I love it. Go buy this book and read it, now. Don't wait numerous years to read it. It's a great disservice to the Author and book.
