Publisher's summary

This is the second book in the Unconventional Series.

Luke Samson is a successful writer at the youthful age of 25. His life is going along as planned and he has no desire to marry for at least a few years. While dining in a Dallas restaurant, he overhears an intriguing conversation and receives his first look at Angel St. Clair, a woman who will forever change his carefully laid plans. Although she has been blessed with angelic beauty, her heart is shattered. Can Luke not only mend, but completely restore this broken woman?

Angel St. Clair's sole desire is to hire a suitable husband to escort her safely to the bakery she has purchased in San Francisco. To that end, she ran a classified advertisement for a mail-order husband. Her life savings has gone into acquiring her business and she hopes to find, if not happiness, at least contentment after suffering a life of tragedy and heartache.

Excerpt:

Taking another sip of ale, Luke switched his thoughts to a classified advertisement he had read that morning in the Dallas Morning News and shook his head. Never had he read anything so blatant.

Mrs. Angel St. Clair, a widow, is seeking a husband to accompany her to California. Said husband will be paid handsomely for the escort and then released from matrimony after safely depositing Mrs. St. Clair at her destination.

The healing powers of love and understanding...

If you could sum up Broken Angel in three words, what would they be?

Confessions - understanding - healing

What was one of the most memorable moments of Broken Angel?

The scene of the annual trek to the graves of loved ones was written with so much heart and love that the tears flowed and I cried. It's an unbelievable scene with moments that I felt deep inside me.

Which scene was your favorite?

Other than the most memorable moments of the book, the scene where Abby has her heart to heart talk with Angel while sitting in the privacy of Angel's bedroom was a favorite. Only the understanding and comfort from one woman to another could bring them so close that a Mother/daughter type love bound them forever.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The telling about Abby's love for "her baby" Ty and how his loss affected her. In the first book, this event brought lots of tears so the reiteration of Ty dying reminded me how this author really knows how to put feeling into her books.

Any additional comments?

I totally enjoy the family feeling in this series. Luke's kindness and his dedication to his Father and Ma Abby makes this story what it is.

Victimized Beauty Takes a Mail Order Husband

Victimized Beauty Takes a Mail Order Husband. Luke, the son in book 1 of this series, now 25 and a successful author answers an ad for a mail-order husband placed by Angel, an older victimized beauty seeking a husband only to escort her from Texas to California. Clever, warm, entertaining.
