About this listen

In May, 1988, in Everett, Washington, four-year-old Feather Rahier disappeared while playing outside after dinner. Her frantic cries drew Feather's mother to the dark garage that was home to Richard Matthew Clark. Clark had stolen the child, bound, and gagged her, and begun to undress her. Only at the last instant was the little girl saved by her mother's desperate intervention. The next victim wouldn't be so fortunate.

Started Well, but...

Story 3/5
Narration 4/5

This one started out well, but after the crime and capture it became mostly boring filler material such as a long autopsy report, and the opening and closing arguments of the trial. Blah, blah, blah...

Recommendation - meh

It was ok

The narration was very good. I like Kevin stillwell. But the story was too full of court drama. That’s just my personal preference. I am not a big fan of court proceedings in a book. But the book was well written.

excellent information on FAS / f a e

I'd suggest you read the very end which deals with fetal alcohol effect and fetal alcohol syndrome before beginning the book. so much of what happens here is determined by What happened to the criminal before he was ever born. Very enlightening

Poor

I could not get through this book. Way too much choppy dialog and not many investigative facts. Also his use of superfluous statements(example given) was annoying. Would not read anything else by this author

Could not keep my attention

I am a big fan of Burl Barer. I think I have read most of his true crime books. This one, I could not finish. It was written in a style that was choppy and hard to follow. I did not learn enough about the charters involved to invest the time to complete the book.
