About this listen

On February 13, 2017, two Indiana teenagers, Abigail Williams, 13, and Liberty German, 14, went for a walk in the woods near the abandoned Monon High Bridge.

They never returned home.

Their bodies were discovered on Valentine's Day morning, sparking a torrent of news coverage and social media speculation that engrossed the attention of people around the world.

A grainy photo of the suspected killer walking across the bridge and a chilling cellphone recording of his voice saying "down the hill" captured the public's attention. Numerous possible suspects were brought to the attention of the authorities but dismissed, leaving everyone wondering who could have committed such a heinous crime.

Author Nic Edwards, host of the wildly popular True Crime Garage podcast, was fascinated by the case and for years conducted his own extensive research and commentary. As such he was able to dissect the investigation that included an extensive list of possible suspects, such as a hatchet-wielding lunatic, a kidnapper with unusual tattoos, a murderous pastor, a rapist, and a father and son catfishing team.

Then in late October 2022, local pharmacy technician Richard Allen was charged with the murders. His arrest raised multiple questions about how he was able to evade law enforcement for so long and what motivated him to commit such a horrific crime.

In The Delphi Murders: The Quest To Find ‘The Man on the Bridge’, Edwards and his best-selling coauthor Brian Whitney (You Have a Very Soft Voice, Susan) provide a detailed account of the investigation from the day the girls’ bodies were found to the events leading up to Allen's arrest, and unique insight into the minds of the killer and those who worked tirelessly to bring him to justice.

A look into a mystery that grips the soul

This story gripped the hearts of many and Nic Edwards provides a great insight into the process of the investigation based on the information available at the time of the writing. His investigative talents are demonstrated throughout and his personal touch is refreshingly frank and unique

Great job!

Nic is truly a great storyteller! Lots of new information for me on this case too. True Crime Garage is one of my favorite podcasts. Cheers, Guys! Great job, Nic!

Amazing

Nic’s commentary on cases is the reason I love True Crime Garage so much. He’s so insightful and really researches the cases. His book is no different, and does not disappoint. I would love to see him author more books! Definitely recommend!

Exceeded Steep Expectations. Very Well Done.

If you are a True Crime Fan, this is what you are looking for. If familiar with the case, hit purchase and clear out your schedule.
What stood out to me most is the flow of the story telling. Nic has always shown great respect for the people he represents so it typically means he wants to stay on track to get it right. This isn’t reading case facts of a page/screen but is masterful story telling. It feels like a fresh story while hitting all of the pertinent points. The narrator was a perfect choice (while Nic himself would also be great)
I couldn’t be more proud of the boys at True Crime Garage. If their podcast (True Crime Garage) did not bring you here, I seriously urge everyone to give it a listen. It’s my personal favorite podcast. Not True Crime Podcast… Podcast period.
Congrats again, Nic! I look forward to the next book.

Fantastic!!

I absolutely loved this book. The narration was perfection. And the information was interesting and extremely thorough. I am an avid true crime fan but never really dug into the Delphi case. I was intrigued by the details and occasional theorizing given by the author. I especially enjoyed the moments when Nic gave some history regarding the True Crime Garage and its beginnings. And the bombshell info about The Captain. I had never known they were related. I came away from listening feeling even more connected to Nic and The Captain. It felt like Nic let his guard down a bit and shared a bit of himself in a vulnerable way. I have been a fan of the podcast for awhile now, but after listening to this book I feel even more connected to the show. I also was impressed with the ease of flow of the story telling even though there has not been a resolution to the case. I’m looking forward to another book once the trial is over and more details are known. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a first time author. Sometimes people get a taste of fame and notoriety and think they have a golden touch even in areas they have no business diving into. This is NOT the case with this book. It was well done, interesting and easy to listen to. And this is coming from the queen of shutting off books that bore or annoy me in someway. I was engrossed from the minute Kevin Pierce started talking. I hope to listen to many more books written by Nic and narrated by Kevin. They make a great team. Almost as good as the Garage Guys themselves. 😉

Great Job

The pod did a excellent job and Nic gives information I didn’t know before. Wish it included some commentary on the man they arrested.

Love Nic!

While I was bummed that Nic didn’t narrate this book it was so well written in his voice, tone and style I felt like I was listening to him! Great book - I loved all the case references.
