About this listen

On February 13, 2017, two Indiana teenagers, Abigail Williams, 13, and Liberty German, 14, went for a walk in the woods near the abandoned Monon High Bridge.

They never returned home.

Their bodies were discovered on Valentine's Day morning, sparking a torrent of news coverage and social media speculation that engrossed the attention of people around the world.

A grainy photo of the suspected killer walking across the bridge and a chilling cellphone recording of his voice saying "down the hill" captured the public's attention. Numerous possible suspects were brought to the attention of the authorities but dismissed, leaving everyone wondering who could have committed such a heinous crime.

Author Nic Edwards, host of the wildly popular True Crime Garage podcast, was fascinated by the case and for years conducted his own extensive research and commentary. As such he was able to dissect the investigation that included an extensive list of possible suspects, such as a hatchet-wielding lunatic, a kidnapper with unusual tattoos, a murderous pastor, a rapist, and a father and son catfishing team.

Then in late October 2022, local pharmacy technician Richard Allen was charged with the murders. His arrest raised multiple questions about how he was able to evade law enforcement for so long and what motivated him to commit such a horrific crime.

In The Delphi Murders: The Quest To Find ‘The Man on the Bridge’, Edwards and his best-selling coauthor Brian Whitney (You Have a Very Soft Voice, Susan) provide a detailed account of the investigation from the day the girls’ bodies were found to the events leading up to Allen's arrest, and unique insight into the minds of the killer and those who worked tirelessly to bring him to justice.

Even better than the podcast!

Nic does an excellent job in his book covering the Delphi case as well as several other related cases. I hope this is the first of more to come!

Riveting and compelling

"The Delphi Murders" explores the freighting evidence in the 2017 murder cases of two Indiana teenagers that disappeared from a bridge, and was covered extensively by the media. Investigators discovered a photograph of the man believed to be responsible for the murders on one of the teenagers' smartphone. Despite the intense media coverage, the case went cold in the following years. Possible suspects are covered in detail in the book. It would not be until 2022 before a suspect would be placed under arrest. This work is a comprehensive summary of this compelling case. As per usual, the phenomenal Kevin Pierce provides riveting narration.

An accurate yet thoughtful account of this tragedy

I’ve been listening to TCG since 2016 and have so much respect for the thought and care Nic and the Captain put into their podcast so it was a no brainer to buy this book. I loved it! Nic tells this tragic tale with reverence and compassion towards every victim of these heinous crimes. A must read for any true crime fan.

True Crime Beast

Nic really is the best. If you are fans of the podcast than you’ll love the book. If you are a fan of true crime in general, you’ll enjoy the book and probably start listening to True Crime Garage. Delphi is a heartbreaking story but it deserves the attention that was given here. Well done.

Big Fan!

Thank you for the detailed account and a few facts of the case that I wasn't aware of. I love the WWJDD and the story behind your start. As I was listening, I was surprised how strange it was for me to hear your words out of someone else's mouth.

Good book

I enjoy the podcast, so, listening to the book was an obvious no brainer. It’s well thought out, with good execution and narration. This case is one that has stuck with me since I heard the TCG podcast episode that covered it.

Comprehensive Details of the Delphi Murders

I may be a bit biased as I've been a fan of the "True Crime Garage" podcasts for years. I've also been an avid fan of Kevin Pierce's narrations. As a matter of fact, TCG is the first podcast I listen to when they drop their episodes and Kevin Pierce is the first narrator I search for when I'm in the market for a new true-crime audiobook.

This book was such an amazing find for me; both Nic from TCG and Kevin narrating the story!

For those who want a review about the content itself:

This book takes you deep into the case from the possible suspects that online sleuths thought of to every news conference put on by LE during the case. There is a nice update at the end too to help wrap things up. There may need to be an added update once the case winds through the system. Some new info has since come out about the murders in the news such as evidence the girls were killed with a "sharp object" (as of this writing).

For those who enjoy listening to TCG:

Nic gives a rare peek behind the curtain of the show. I won't ruin the surprises but if you're a fan of the True Crime Garage podcast or are a new listener to it, I'll let you discover the awesome beind-the-scenes info that Nic reveals in this book.
