About this listen

Summer always ends. Love doesn’t have to.

Sofia Buck fled Hampton Beach a decade ago, never looking back until her father’s untimely death forces her to return for the summer to deal with the family business. Her one goal: sell Buck’s Landing so she can move on with her life.

Silas Wilde believes in serendipity, especially when it brings an irresistible woman into his life. He’s certain they belong together, and sets out to convince Sofia to give him—and Hampton—a chance at forever.

Rediscovering the magic of her hometown with Silas tempts Sofia with a future she never imagined—if only she can let go of the past that waits around every corner.

A Lovely Story

This book was about a woman who must confront her past before being able to embrace her future. The story was delightful and charming, and I enjoyed it. It was a sweet romance and I recommend it to others who enjoy this genre. Amy Jo Steele's narration was great and added to the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Steamy, but sweet romance

Buck's Landing is a short romance featuring Sofia and Silas. Sofia has come back home to Buck's Landing to fix and sell her father's business. The place holds a lot of sad memories for her and she is anxious to move on. Silas is the new business owner next door who will do what ever it takes to keep Sofia in his life.

I did ultimately enjoy this one. This is definitely a steamy romance. The two had good chemistry and I did like how their relationship progressed over the summer. Sofia was a little frustrating though. She was not completely upfront with Silas. I felt like she lead him on a little. I did find myself rooting for her though. Silas was just a gem of a guy and was someone any girl would want to be with.

The audio production was really good. My only complaint was that the narrator used a very New Jersey sounding voice for one of the characters who was born and raised in New Hampshire. The two accents aren't even close. But that is just a nitpicky thing on my part. I do recommend this romance, especially in the audio version.

Sofia & Silas were beautifully chiseled. I loved the sparks that flew between them. Their story captured me and pulled me in, and didn’t let me go until the very end.

Amy Jo Steele’s narration of the story was brilliant. I loved how she brought these wonderful characters to life. Her voice was great and really lent power to the story. Listening to her narrate didn’t bore me and I can’t wait to listen to more of her work!

more than i was expecting

Meeting Sofia, Silas, and Buck's Landing was my pleasure. I loved getting to know the ins and outs of Sofia's life as a lost/forgotten teen. Her father, the landing, her mother, her friends Silas. With all the changes coming in her life. She could not see the constant. The safe harbor for her present world.

Silas was younger but her was wiser and world smart. He was not saddle with the weight of grief and loss. He walked away from a world that could give him any and everything he could every want or desire, but one. He was able to find that elusive one thing in a town he was never meant to come across. When he did he took no time at all claiming it and owning it.

Hello, Amy Jo Steele. Nice to hear you again back doing what you do well. You could feel the words. Frustration. Passion. Hurt. Pain. Confusion.

I am looking forward to seeing what comes next for the New England Seacoast. I did get more than I was expecting from this first installment in a new series, from a new author.
