About this listen

The Gathering only lasted for seven days, but it ended up being a lot more of an adventure than Jason had expected. Now it’s time to head home, and Jason is excited to sleep in his own bed and hang out with John, Tyler, and Annabeth again.

Jason learned a lot, and he’s eager to put that knowledge to use. If his ideas work, it could totally revolutionize how Sandy and the crew make charms—allowing them to heal, train, and defend the House even better than before.

So when the rotten mages show up, Jason is still feeling confident in himself and his new knowledge.

He has a new shield. He’s fought for his life in the arena. His matrix is much denser than before.

He’s a warrior mage now and stronger than ever before.

Fun plot with detailed descriptions for every moment

It’s a fun plot and it puts you in the headspace feels closer to the way Japanese novels are written, however book 4 is too short for my liking to be honest,
It feel like it needs more plot and further progression other than that it’s fun enough

So much fun

These are great books. The narrator hits the characters on the nose. Keep them coming.

Needs an editor, but comfortable trash

I’m a little surprised by the fact that I keep spending credits on this series, but it is easy to listen to when doing hobbies and sports. I listen at 1.3x to make the repetitive descriptions easier to bear. The narrator clearly tries. The author tries to write steamy sex scenes but then can’t seem to abstain from making extremely odd descriptions (“my fireman laid down his milkshake”, really), would be better if the author picked a tone per scene and stuck with it.

Good stuff: you never really worry for anyone, so this series is great for anyone trying to avoid stress.
