About this listen

Expanded and revised third edition

Is it possible that everything you have been told about retirement planning is wrong?

Is retirement dead? Perhaps not yet, but it's on life support. The concept of retirement, as we've known it, is becoming a thing of the past. With the major economic, social, cultural, medical, technological, and employment shifts that have occurred in the past two decades, most everyone under the age of 100 now has to rethink what they thought "retirement" would be.

Furthermore, the various "financial planning" industries are still looking at retirement through the lens of the 20th century. As a result, they are pushing products, services, and concepts that can actually reduce your chances for comfort in your later years.

Busting the Retirement Lies will transform your perspective on retirement. You will learn:

  • Why retirement is a bad idea to start with!
  • Advice from centenarians on staying young
  • Role models who found work they can love for a lifetime
  • How inflation will drastically impact your spendable income if you live as long as you might!
  • Why "saving enough" is not enough
  • How financial planners skew projections, creating false expectations
  • Why and how conventional retirement strategies are changing
  • And more eye-opening new realities

But most of all, regardless of your current age, you'll discover what you can do to live prosperously the rest of your life!

Great life planning thoughts w/financial provision

Great financial and purpose coaching for all phases of life. It includes some retirement plan insights that most professional financial advice givers don't tell you.

All sorts of what not to do...dearth of what to do

Don’t do 401ks? Then what? Sounded like a whole life insurance pitch throughout. Just plain painful to listen to as well. Ugh

No real financial solutions offered

The book spends a long time pointing out that high fees, and inaccurate claims make things like 401-k plans unattractive but doesn’t offer any alternatives or examples of what would be a better investment option. Other advice given, like eating healthily and finding a fulfilling job etc. is fairly obvious.

A few tidbits. Boring number comparisons

Save your time and just save 20% per year and never stop working. Painfully boring presentation. Maybe a professional speaker and warning to have charts in front of you first.

Not worth the fifteen word minimum to write a review. Don't spend money on this!
