Needs work

This reminds me of stories my middle school students would write. Too many unexplained threads, choppy writing, and tinny narration. The author has promise, but the book needs to be longer so her ideas can be expanded, and the book will make more sense.

Fast Read

This was just okay for me. I wasn't thrilled with the narration; the change between chapters was too raps and while I get the child's voice was supposed to be annoying, it grated on me. The mystery was average. On the positive side, the author gives a plug to rescue dogs, which is always a good thing!!!

Disappointing -sorry!

What disappointed you about Butterfly Boy: An Avery Barks Dog Mystery?

Nice concept but the story was too detailed for the short story genre. Rushed to to get to the end. But it was the narrator's irritating tone that caused me to dislike this book and decide not to try more.

How could the performance have been better?

Change tone.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I love dogs.
