About this listen

Holden: The last time Beckett walked out on him, Holden knew it was time to let him go.

Since the day they'd met, he'd known they were meant for one another, but Beckett doesn't feel the same. Now, it's time to call it quits, only Beckett is in trouble and Holden can't walk away until the man is out of danger. If truth be told, maybe not even then.

Beckett: It's not easy fighting powerful forces and juggling things with Holden.

He knows Holden wants more, but he's skittish about commitment and he has his reasons. Right now though, those reasons take a back seat to the trouble he's got brewing. So he wants, no he needs, Holden fighting by his side and honestly, he doesn't want to think about Holden walking away.

It's all about the timing . . .

With time running out, it's a race to catch the bad guys before they start killing hostages. Can a commitment phobic, talkative ex-army lieutenant and an easy-going, patient active-duty sergeant put their rocky relationship on hold to take on corrupt law enforcement? And if they do, when the dust settles, will they fully commit to each other or call it quits?

Contains mature themes.

enjoyed it

📖 Story comment: good pace, likeable characters, interesting plot.

I listened to all 8 books in the Code of Honor series back to back and loved every one of them. My review covers the whole series in general because there is a story arc that is built on in each book and leads into the next series (Operation Justice Force) so it's all a good fit.

The series is well developed, each story is action packed, has good pace and likeable characters. I like my books a little longer, but overall I was happy with the series and will listen to it again.

I enjoyed Holden & Beckett's story - the secret relationship was well written and believable. This is a good conclusion to the series and introduction to the "Pegasus" team.

🎧 Narrator comment: Troy Duran was a good choice of narrator for this series and he did a great job with the narration. Each character had his own voice and I had no problem distinguishing characters from each other and his rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the characters to life. My only negative comment would be: the secondary characters (ie: other team members) voices were often inconsistent across the series - listening to each book separately I didn't really notice, but when listened to back to back the inconsistency was noticeable.

Ohhh. I didn’t read this story first.

So this is the lead in for Pegasus. Nice. I haven’t heard the beginning of the Pegasus series for a while so I couldn’t remember if it was explained how Pegasus was formed.

Great Story Telling

I liked the overall story. I like the fact the writer sets up the next story.

Ridiculous

For special forces they sure can’t seem to be smarter than the bad guy. Escape no less than then three times only to get caught again. REALLY ridiculous
