About this listen

The job at Sunday Orchard was supposed to be temporary.

A chance to gain some work experience. To have some fun. To get away from my overprotective brothers. To maybe, possibly encounter some lumberjacks in their natural habitat before moving on to the dream career that awaited me in the city.

I had not expected to be welcomed into a family of gorgeous and weirdly efficient lumberjack-types myself. Or to find a purpose in the tiny Vermont town whose claim to fame seemed to be apple-based products and copious amounts of charm.

And I most definitely hadn’t expected to fall for Knox Sunday, my grumpy, burly, fifteen-years-older, reluctant roommate, with his infuriating lectures, his hot-as-fire body, his superior attitude, his snarky humor, and his stealthy cuddles.

Now I find myself making excuses to delay my big dreams....just for a little while.

But Knox has unfulfilled dreams of his own- a career he walked away from. A big city life in Boston he left behind, when he returned to his hometown to help his family. He claims he’s not looking for anything permanent, and I’ve never been one to put down roots.

My big life is waiting for me somewhere other than Little Pippin Hollow. So why does it feel like I’ve finally found the home of my heart?

And how can I get Knox Sunday to....pick me?

YESS!!! Pick him!

Okay. Gage and Knox. Hot. Lol. Sorry that had to be the start of this. I adore Gage. He is happy go lucky. Sweet and can be. Soooo funny and corky in the best way. Also blunt. He is someone I’d love to know in real life. Then Knox is the man I’d fall in love with. Slightly closed off. Sexy lumberjack—who does whatever he can for his family while not thinking of his own happiness. I loved this story and getting to know the Sunday Family. May archer is magic. She writes the best stories and continues to make them special, unique and un-put-downable. Amazing read. Amazing listen. 10 stars ⭐️

Super sweet!

I don’t usually leave written reviews but this book was so sweet I just had too. The banter between the two was hilarious and the slow burn was perfect. I found myself smiling and actually laughing loud multiple times; I can’t say that about many books. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future!

Yay for Sunshine & Grumpy Men!!!

Gage and Knox are very much Sunshine and Grumpy respectively. I really love Gage when he's antagonizing Knox. As it happens, Knox has a fabulous family that I look forward to seeing more of in future books.

Fantastic narration

Lots of characters to keep track of and quite a bit of table-setting, but the sparks fly at the end with some unforgettable sequences. Don’t be a crab apple, spend the credit!

Slow Burn…. Totally worth it!!

Love Michael Dean at anything he reads his voices are the best. There’s a long slow burn almost leaving you wanting more but when the book comes together as do the two central characters it’s all worth it. Knox is a stick in the mud. Gage the life of the party…even when there isn’t a party. Together they would kill each other ? Or be perfect together!!!

A small town MM romance that feels real and genuine!

Gage is 24 and just starting his career as a web programmer. He accepts a temporary job at Sunday Orchard and crushes on the hot lumberjack that is Knox Sunday before he even meets him. Knox is 39, married to his job, and his anxiety begins to worsen so he returns home to the orchard to destress for a few months before going back to the city.

Knox really is a grumpy old man and takes a while to warm up to the tidal wave that is Gage Goodman. I laughed out loud so many times, the humor is top notch and Gage is just such a lovable, snarky guy who always has something wildly entertaining to say.

Their relationship is real and beautiful. The steam is hot and Michael Dean did an amazing job narrating both characters. He portrayed both men so well, I often forgot I was listening to the same voice. I can’t wait to read Webb’s story next!

Gage and Knox - swoony growly sparkly perfection

This book was so deliciously good. It is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love. We are shown all these things through real, relatable people who have flaws, but are really trying to just do their best as the messy humans they are. Gage is recently independently wealthy but wants to use his knowledge and degrees to help people technologically. So he takes a position in Little Pippin Hollow, Vermont on a farm to build them an app to automate their processes. Knox is one of the Sunday brothers on the farm. He has recently come home after having panic attacks at his high stress job in Boston. Gage and Knox are opposites attract, age gap, enemies to lovers perfection and watching them stumble through to their HEA was painfully beautiful. This book was filled with all the things you’d expect, sweet moments, painful pasts, steamy scenes, supportive family and friends, small town goodness, character growth and missteps, and all the love. Get ready to feel all the things along with Gage and Knox. I’ll definitely be continuing this series. I cannot wait to see what’s next for the Sunday men.

Michael Dean, as always, did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. I think I’d enjoy listening to this narrator read a phone book.

Right There

I like the interplay between Knox and Gage. Each one moving closer. I also love how the family adds a great element about the rest of the Sunday’s finding their HEA. I listened to the audio and enjoyed the performance very much.
