About this listen
This Christmas, Emily Merkle (call her Mrs. Miracle!) is working in the toy department at Finley’s, the last family-owned department store in New York City. And her boss is none other than…Jake Finley, the owner’s son.
For Jake, holiday memories of brightly wrapped gifts, decorated trees and family were destroyed in a Christmas Eve tragedy years before. Now Christmas means just one thing to him - and to his father. Profit. Because they need a Christmas miracle to keep the business afloat.
Holly Larson needs a miracle, too. She wants to give her eight-year-old nephew, Gabe, the holiday he deserves. Holly’s widowed brother is in the Army and won’t be home for Christmas, but at least she can get Gabe that toy robot from Finley’s, the one gift he desperately wants. If she can figure out how to afford it....
Fortunately, it’s Mrs. Miracle to the rescue. Next to making children happy, she likes nothing better than helping others - and that includes doing a bit of matchmaking!
This Christmas will be different. For all of them.

Story
Annie Marlow has been through the worst. Rocked by tragedy, she heads to the one place that makes her happy: Oceanside in the Pacific Northwest, the destination of many family vacations when Annie was a teenager. Once there, Annie begins to restore her broken spirit, thanks, in part, to the folks she meets: a local painter, Keaton, whose large frame is equal to his big heart - and who helps Annie fix up her rental cottage by the sea; Mellie, the reclusive, prickly landlord Annie is determined to befriend; and Britt, a teenager with a terrible secret.

For Cassie Beaumont, it's meeting her perfect match. Cassie, at 33, wants a husband and kids, and so far, nothing's worked. Not blind dates, not the Internet and certainly not leaving love to chance. What's left? A professional matchmaker. He's Simon Dodson, and he's very choosy about the clients he takes on. Cassie finds Simon a difficult, acerbic know-it-all, and she's astonished when he accepts her as a client.

Sweet Christmas Blessing
If you love Christmas stories, you will love this one. This time of year, especially, I love to listen to Christmas audio books while I sew, bake, and do other things at home . . . or when I am driving. What I appreciate most about Debbie Macomber's Christmas books is that she keeps Christ in Christmas, and the people in her stories are going through the same things we all do . . . daddy's go to war, parents get killed in car wrecks, and folks stuff the pain deep in their hearts . . . until something or someone comes along that makes them face it. All her books have a sweet spirit . . . enjoy.

Feel Good Christmas Story
I liked this book from the beginning, and it kept my interest throughout. It is the perfect light "read" for Christmas - a book to listen to and do menial tasks at the same time. Jennifer Van Dyck's narration is a good fit.

A Christmas Miracle
A wonderful story about family and the closeness of a sister and brother who is in service and the miracles that can happen if we just believe and have faith and the excitement of her nephew seeing his dad at Christmas and getting the surprise he'd been dreaming of.

A Christmas Romance
I've now listened to this for two Christmases running. It's not great but it's okay. Reader was fine. I keep looking for the perfect christmas classic, a romance that works. This isn't it but better than a lot of them.

Lovely Christmas Story, Poor Narration.
It’s a classic Debbie Macomber Christmas story. Sweet, a bit romantic and full of lessons.
And as much as I’d rather not say this - because, you know it’s a Christmas book - this narrator was not good. I don’t know where she learned her narration style from - but she should ask for her money back.
Aside from that? Like I said, love the book, loved Mrs. Miracle. Fun and sweet to the end.
