When a promising actress from Spanish Harlem dies from a gunshot wound in the Tribeca penthouse apartment of an eccentrically famous Broadway producer, it is up to New York D.A. Roger "Butch" Karp and his hard-charging, crime-fighting wife, Marlene Ciampi, to champion the murdered actress's cause. Karp - outraged by defense tactics to destroy the young woman's reputation and the mysterious death of the assistant D.A. assigned to the case - decides to personally prosecute the case and expose the "Big Lie" defense.
With Marlene's assistance, Karp is determined that money, threats, notoriety, and a high-powered defense attorney and his legion of experts will not prevail over justice. Then Karp's daughter Lucy goes missing.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Comic book fans. It was just ridiculous, but if you can suspend disbelief... fantasy fans? What could Robert K. Tanenbaum have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I'm done. I'm never buying another one of his books. He can stand on his head. I'm not buying it.Which character – as performed by Charles Leggett – was your favorite?
I didn't have a favorite.Any additional comments?
I just kept repeating "Really?!" like on Saturday Night Live... I just could not believe the garbage that passed for a plot in this book. I've read every unabridged book I could get my hands on by Tanenbaum, but it's over. Don't call me.Karp has jumped the shark
