About this listen

Perhaps the most important book in philosophy after the Allegory of the Cave. Incomparable logic and findings about the things that matter in life with a clear succinct prose touch.

If I could rate this “half-a-star” I would’ve.

I cannot believe Audible and the publisher allowed this onto the platform. I have over 130 purchases on here and this is the worst by a mile.

This is also the first review I’ve ever done on here but I felt it my duty to write this so others are not wildly disappointed upon arrival and Aristotle is no longer disrespected with this joke of representation.

The audio is not properly edited and the narrator is clearly unable to find how to read this book ‘fluidly’. The combination of those two things makes the content almost impossible to grasp just by listening…. I suggest purchasing the hard copy or keeping a pen & paper handy so you can pause, rewind, dissect, and take notes… because that’s the sort of effort required if you are looking to retain any valuable information on this.

I’ll be purchasing the hard copy soon unless Audible or the publisher fixes this dumpster fire.

Dog-Shit Narration

Not well produced. Background music distracts. Seems like it was done in one take and not edited.

Seems like a first take, not edited.

Having spent the past few days reading the reflections of Robert Pirsig on the concepts of Quality, Value and the Buddhist concept of Dharma, I thought it would be interesting to look to one of the Fathers of Western Philosophy, Aristotle.

This book does an excellent job of cataloguing all of the Categories and Qualities of his World he considered worthy of thought and analysis by Philosophy. It is a difficult read, but it is a necessary work for anyone interested in that Discipline.

For a mind more attracted to the Buddhist take on Reality, it is a painful exercise that sucks the life out of a beautiful practice. I fall into this category hence my three star rating. ***

Also the narration made listening to this book more painful than it had to be. One Star for Deaver Brown

Painful but necessary work.

Poor audio quality, skips chapters, not worth buying. Don’t buy this audio book, you will be disappointed if you do
