Story
Recently widowed Jillian Hart is rebuilding a life for herself and her three beloved cats - Chablis, Syrah, and Merlot - as a quilter in a small South Carolina town. The quilts she makes are for cats as smart, special, and sweet as her own, and business is thriving. But when she returns from an overnight quilting show, she discovers Chablis sneezing - and since Chablis is allergic to humans, that can only mean one thing: Someone has broken into her house. When she realizes her Abyssinian, Syrah, is missing, Jillian suspects catnapping. Spurred by Chablis and Merlot’s mournful meowing, she investigates - and discovers more missing cats and a murder.

Story
Maggie's latest case is an unidentified female in her early teens, discovered in a local cemetery. More shocking than the girl's injuries - for Maggie at least - is the fact that no one has reported her missing. She and the detectives assigned to the case (including her cop ex-husband) are determined to follow every lead, run down every scrap of evidence. But the monster they seek is watching every move, closer to them than they could possibly imagine.

Story
The unthinkable has happened in a small community outside of San Francisco. A series of shocking murders has occurred, the victims far too innocent and defenseless. For Detective Kate Martinelli, just promoted to Homicide and paired with a seasoned cop who's less than thrilled to be handed a green partner, it's a difficult case that just keeps getting harder. Then the detectives receive what appears to be a case-breaking lead.

Story
Tim Hess is a semiretired veteran cop staring at a death sentence - his own. Detective Merci Rayborn, young enough to be his daughter, is brash, impatient, and not someone from whom Hess wants to be taking orders. He certainly isn't planning on falling in love with her. Together, they must track down a psychopathic killer who's been abducting beautiful young women from the malls of Orange County.

WONDERFUL AUTHOR, AND SUPERB STORY LINE
THIS STORY IS A SLOW START, BUT PICKS UP AS WE GO. A FEW TWISTS AND TURNS THAT REALLY MADE THE STORY UNUSUAL AND INFORMATIVE. THIS WAS MY FIRST CHINA BAYLES MYSTERY, AND I CAME AWAY VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS CHARACTER.
SUSAN WITTIG ALBERT IS A VERY TALENTED AUTHOR, AND SHE HAS SO MANY BOOKS AVAILABLE TO US ON AUDIBLE. I CAN SEE THE WINTER WILL BE FULL OF MANY WELL WRITTEN COZY MYSTERY'S. CAT'S CLAW IS A SUPERB STORY AND WELL WORTH THE CREDIT.
