Publisher's summary

NBA star Chase Holbrook's reputation with women is as legendary as his court stats. But his best scores have always come when he's focused on his jump shot, not on the ladies. With a teammate putting up close competition for the offensive record, Chase needs to prove that he was worth every penny of his high-dollar trade. To be the top-scoring player, Chase accepts a team bet to steer clear of women. Shouldn't be a problem for ultra-competitive Chase - especially when he learns it's the annoyingly cute team mascot who's tasked with monitoring his every move.

Team mascot Willow "Bolt" Bend has always been one of the guys. So it's no surprise when she's asked to help ensure the integrity of the bet. Willow doesn't want to get involved, but her hesitation is sidelined by her desire to learn if Chase is as shallow as she thinks. With a sick cousin who's eager to meet him, Willow wants to know if a good person is hiding inside the notorious playboy. All she has to do is not take her eyes off the gorgeous man mountain and cry foul if he breaks his celibacy - easy, right?

The perky cheerleader has always gotten under Chase's skin, but with the celi-bet well underway, Willow's starting to get to Chase in ways no one expected. As the spark between them begins to ignite, the bet keeping them apart may just be the thing that pulls them together.

Funny and touching sports romance

This was a humorous and touching yet quick listen. I have read and listened to several books by Leslie North and they do not disappoint. NBA star Chase is trying to beat a team mate in beating a scoring record and the two come up with the "celi-bet". Chase has to focus on the game and stay away from the ladies. The person assigned to making sure that he does this is the team mascot "Bolt" aka Wiilow. Willow agrees to helping out, not because she cares, but to check out what type of guy Chase really is before she lets him meet a young family member. The more time the two spend with each other, the more they begin to open up and allow them to see the other in a different light.

This was a was a fun story and narrator Rebecca Roberts does a wonderful job voicing characters.

Celi-bet The Solomon Brothers, Book 2

This is a story about Chase Halbrook, an NBA star that thinks only of himself until Willow makes him start thinking differently. Willow is always putting others before herself and after work, she takes what the food vendors have left to the homeless people she knows around town. Chase and Terrick have made a bet to stay away from women until the season is over or one of them breaks the record. Terrick picks Willow for Chase's monitor and Chase picks Terrick's mother for his. Willow and Chase don't like each other at first. She thinks he is nothing but a playboy with nothing but one-night stands. When Chase goes to talk to Willow about the bet, she tells him she will have to think about it. As Willow and Chase spend more time together, they fall for each other until Chase sees a message on her phone that makes him mad. when Willow comes in he tells her to pack her stuff and get out. He won't listen to what she has to say to him at all. Chance's teammates get him one night after the game and start telling him stories about Willow and Terrick lays down the money he won on the bet and the rest of the team adds to it as they tell their story.
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Love this sports romance

What a fun listen this book is! Leslie North always provides complete entertainment with well developed characters. This sports romance is the second in the series, but can stand alone. A bet between players...who can remain celibate for the rest of the season results in Chase Holbrook's game of his life. Willow Bend, the team's mascot and thorn in Chase's side is set to be his keeper to make sure he is true to his word. What Chase doesn't know is the real Willow. This story brings true love to the forefront, selflessness, self awareness and becoming who you truly want to be. This couple, along with the incredible supporting cast of Dylan(love this boy), Estelle(what a hoot!) and Tarek(hope he gets his own story) will inspire you and bring a smile to our face.

Rebecca Roberts is the narrator. It's the first book I have heard by her and really enjoyed her performance. Her pace was perfect and her voices were easily distinguishable. Very enjoyable.

Another Great Leslie North series

I enjoy Leslie North books. Leslie writes many interconnected story lines which I enjoy, I always hate to see a story line arc come to an end. Her stories revolve around alpha males and their lady loves and these three stories deliver on that. The male characters are caring, strong, smart matches to their mates. The women are wonderful loving individuals who care more for others than themselves. A thoroughly enjoyable trio of stories.

Absolutely Loved it! Cried a little, laughed alot!

Leslie North delivers everything in this humourous, heart-felt, tear forming, feel-good, sports-based romance. Be prepared to giggle and cry but mostly relish NBA star Chase Holbrook and mascot Willow Bends wonderful romance. While this is a stand alone story, I am completely inspired to listening to the rest of the series.

Rebecca Roberts delivers the kind of narration that sets the story to life. She picks up the subtle nuances of the various characters. In fact, it is more than a narration, it is a performance worthy of the story.

Fantastic story & series!!

I was given a copy of this audio book for an honest review. This is book #2 in the Solomon Brother series by Leslie North. Rebecca Roberts is a wonderful narrator. A professional basketball player with a playboy reputation makes a bet with a teammate that he can refrain from sex longer. Ramping up the exuberance of the bet, the teammates select one person who has to be with the player at all times to ensure they remain celibate. Chase is assigned Willow (the team mascot) as the person to hold him accountable blasts this jewel to life spectacularly. Sparks fly from the get go with these two. Fantastic story. Highly recommend this series.

I laughed... I cried...

I loved the story and the depth shown in the characters. Chase was far more complex than he seemed at first.

I liked that the relationship was slow to build, no instr-love here, it makes it much more 'real world' for me.

The overall story is simple and easy to follow but smaller elements are woven int hat create more depth and keep the story interesting.

The narration has great character voices and a very natural delivery. I could tell who was speaking from the voice. The tone, pacing and phrasing worked well and emotion was conveyed well.

So cute!

This was simply adorable the way the characters played off each other was magic. This can be read as a stand alone if you choose, but I highly recommend reading the other two books as well. This is an excellent series. There is a community spirit in this series that leaves you feeling very positive after you've read the books. I received a free review copy of the audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fun Story!

This is the second book in The Solomon Brothers, a Sports Romance. Chase and Willow's story is fun and sweet. The storyline is original. Willow is such a fun character! Chase is a handsome character. The secondary characters are great. I love the ending. Rebecca Roberts did a great job with the narration, as always. This is a great team author/narrator. #AudiobookObsession
