Aren’t Small Towns Supposed to Be Boring?
Overnight, a shiny new business opens on Chancey, Georgia’s Main Street, with a manager straight from New York City, who doesn’t find the South charming, at all. Carolina’s bookstore is also opening on Main Street. If she can keep Patty’s mind on books instead of a new romance.
Then, when a secret wedding catches everyone off guard, a springtime tornado in Chancey just seems like icing on the cake. (Wedding cake, that is.)
Trains still run by Crossings, the B and B for rail road enthusiasts. Ruby still sells coffee and muffins. And kids still get out of school for the summer.
However, even in a small town, change is constant.
New jobs mean a move for long-time Chancey residents. Cancelled plans lead to moves across the state - and broken hearts. Graduations means new chapters. And babies mean...well....
Babies mean nothing will ever be the same again.

This one is focusing on Will, the oldest son and the changes he has made in his life. Just as all good parents do, they have to learn to let their adult kids make their own mistakes. So dang hard, but so dang necessary.
The introduction of Jordan and the new coffee shop was fun. But, my favorite part of the new coffee shop was Ruby's, owner of the coffee/muffin hangout, response.
Lainey's story absolutely drove me crazy, but, I felt like I knew what was going on, just didn't understand why she wasn't being her 'forthcoming' self. Maybe that will come to light in the the next book.
I love how Carolina reminded herself and Jackson of how important it is to not allow distance to come into their marriage. Even after so much time, it is still WORK.
As in the other books, I found myself shaking my head at certain characters, and laughing at others. I love the inner dialogue that we are privy to with Carolina and Suzanne Barbetta, the narrator, brings her thoughts to life for me. She has a perfect southern accent for Carolina, but, oh, how I love Mrs and her 'look down the nose' attitude that she brings to life. I can see her standing, back straight, head held high, every time Suzanne speaks.
Book 4, here I come!!

The narration continues with the same narrator, Suzanne Barbetta. Her narration is excellent.
