Publisher's summary

The world of the Runelords has been combined by magic with another one parallel it, the beginning of a process that may unify all worlds into the one true world.

This story picks up after the events of The Wyrmling Horde and follows two of Farland’s well-known heroes, Borenson and Myrrima, on a quest to save their devastated land and the people of the new world from certain destruction. But the land is not the only thing that has been altered forever: In the change, Borenson has merged with a mighty and monstrous creature from the other world, Aaath Ulber.

He begins to change, becoming a berserker warrior with a huge new body. Thousands have died. Lands have sunk below the sea and, elsewhere, risen from it. And the supernatural rulers of the world are part of a universal evil yet play a byzantine game of dark power politics among themselves - a game in which Aaath Ulber is now the most significant pawn….

Absolutely love this series!!!

Narrator is perfect, on point. Well-planned, intricately detailed characters who become as well known to you as a close friend. Many, many hours of epic listening.

Great but for one annoying thing...

I know I'm just being a sticker, and it's a character flaw of mine, but when authors use decimated when they mean obliterated just bugs me. It wouldn't be so annoying but he does it over and over and over!

Too over the top for its own good

I would actually give the story 3.5 stars. It keeps your interest, but the incredibly overwhelming odds the protagonists constantly face in everything they do gets old fast. Forget easy, nothing they face is even of average challenge level. Other than that, it's a good tale except for.the ending which seemed a little too abrupt.

Unexpected direction

I was hoping for things to wrap up so if the cliffhangers from the last book but we get a completely new plot line. That being said, the plot line is really good and the characters are familiar so after the initial disappointment of things not getting resolved, I sat back and enjoyed the story. Ray Porter provides excellent narration.

Not to be missed. A great tale.

Such a great saga in high fantasy. Not to be missed. The performance was top-tier, and the characters and plot unforgettable.

What will I do now!?

I am so caught up in this series, I had no idea what I was getting into when I started, the narration, the characters, the “Power!” In my sir Borenson (excuse misspelling) voice attempt ahaha I just noticed 13 minutes left and I am so scared to see if I will find anything as good to continue on living Ahahahha really great series! I will have to listen again

Excellent but....

If you could sum up Chaosbound in three words, what would they be?
It's excellent but...

What did you like best about this story?
That is was so exciting and pulled on into the moment.

Have you listened to any of Ray Porter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Excellent as always. He truly holds the characters and story together.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Oh I laughed and cried in many places, especially at the deaths of so many characters. The pain of Fallion in the last book is multiplied in this story by all the horrible events taking place. When Mirama (sp?) died.

Any additional comments?
I hope the story really doesn't end here. I feel somehow cheated. I get the feeling that the author finished the book this way because of a personal tragedy which I'm greatly saddened to hear. I understand there was a book 9 but it's been pulled for some reason and I don't expect the series to continue as it may be too difficult for the author to do. He appears to have moved on to other stories.
