About this listen

Jack's a retired ex-cop from New York, seeking the simple life in Cherringham. Sarah's a Web designer who's moved back to the village to find herself. But their lives are anything but quiet as the two team up to solve Cherringham's criminal mysteries.

This compilation contains episodes 43 - 45.

A Score to Settle

When Cherringham choir stalwart Arthur Chisholm is robbed in the middle of the night, it seems he's just the victim of bad luck. But as more of his fellow choir members are burgled, Jack and Sarah realise that these crimes are no coincidence.

Deadline

When journalist Tom Pinder is fished out of the river near Jack's barge, it seems that the hardened old drinker may have had one too many and accidentally slipped to a watery death. Jack and Sarah soon discover that he had made some very dangerous enemies...

Bad Neighbours

When Brian Foley is charged with the murder of his neighbour, the case against the blustering showman seems incontrovertible. But Jack and Sarah are convinced the police have got it wrong. With time running out, can they find the real killer?

Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid 90's, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, the successful crime fiction series Cherringham, and the historical series Mydworth Mysteries.

The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of DCI John Barnaby in Midsomer Murders and Jim Riley in The Life of Riley. He is also known for his film roles in The Nativity, Sorted and Son of Rambow. In 2012 Dudgeon starred as Norman Birkett on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

The characters are well written. The narrator is wonderful and easily does an American accent. Love the series.

The authors never fail to deliver intelligent, interesting and fun stories. The characters, new & old are wonderful. And to top it off, superb narration by Neil Dudgeon. I’m so glad they are back to writing the Cherringham mysteries.

I always enjoy these compilations but the last story Bad Neighbors seemed to easy to solve.

Kinda too easy

No spoiler alerts. But this is a complex story that was more difficult to un braid than many of the previous stories. Two women married to difficult and possibly abusive men, and the death of one of those husbands with the blame going on the other husband. Well, worth a listen for the twist at the end.

If you’re a fan, this is an excellent story.
