About this listen

Grades don’t matter anymore. Now I know what’s important. I need to protect the girls—no matter what. No matter who, or what, tries to come for them. No matter what it means for me.

Evan Wakefield’s life changed when he met the red-headed girl sitting next to him in class. It’s not just the pretty, quiet redhead with the fox ears who needs his protection anymore. There’s a new girl who needs him, and she’s nothing like the self-possessed raven-haired beauty with the amber eyes or the smart and quiet blonde who’s always quietly watching and helping.

This girl is different.

And she's got a problem that only Evan can solve, using his newfound powers as a Protector. Now, Evan just has to navigate the drama with his multiple girlfriends, all while racing against time when it comes to the oncoming demi-human war.

There's not much time for schoolwork when the clock is ticking toward the apocalypse.

Another classic by Sam Hunter

I already read the book, but the audiobook gave it even more depth. I love the way he writes his characters, and the voice acting was fantastic. Can't wait for the next one

Refreshing

Tired of ridiculously over powered characters? Me too sometimes, this mc doesn’t have godlike powers, doesn’t destroy enemies in a blink, and doesn’t walk through stressful encounters without effort. It’s a story with more “realistic” super powers, and well written to make you enjoy listening to audiobooks again after struggling to finish someone else’s story that didn’t fulfill your cravings. Story has spice and flavorings, but still some grit and plot. We’ll worth listening to.

just bad writing

I don't think the author can keep track of his own mind.. It's likely sending to 10 books all in the wrong order like you expect you to know what they're all talking about even though everything could be solved if they just actually sat down for 20 minutes and talked to each other.

just not that good

Could not keep me interested, the story is just lacking. It tries to be interesting but the premise is just so lacking of details that it is not interesting.

Boring

The first thing about this book so far is that it’s just plain boring. I honestly skipped a lot of the book and I could still tell what was going on. The second thing is the MC is kinda dumb with what’s going on around him. He blindly does things knowing that he shouldn’t or doesn’t really understands what’s happening alot of the time. Doesn’t ask questions about the world he got into even when he has multiple people he could have asked but chooses not too. The third thing that is frustrating is how weak everyone really is in this series, they’re suppose to be Demi humans who can shift its even in the series name but to me they’re just normal people with animal features and that’s about it. The author could have went with a different way of how he portrays alot of the characters to give them more depth but it’s more like a annoying escort mission with dumb AI that doesn’t follow the commands you give. The only real thing the MC has are claws and a healing factor that’s stupid common for this type of shifter book. But the main issue I have is that it’s just boring with the same type of plot in the first one. People want the artifact that he has but the MC never asked any questions to understand the real value he’s suppose to protect. The narrator is also super monotone with no real reflection, he even sounds bored with everything going on. I don’t plan on getting the next book in this series since I don’t think it will get any better. Save your credit on other titles that are better than this l.
