Publisher's summary

In a world where mages and monster grow from cultivating mana, Isaac joins the class of humans known as mages who absorb mana to grow more powerful. To become a mage, he must bind a mana beast to himself to access and control mana. But when his mana beast is far more human than he expected, Isaac struggles with the budding relationship between the two of them as he prepares to enter his first dungeon.

Unfortunately for Isaac, he doesn’t have time to ponder the questions of his relationship with Aurora. His sleepy town of Locksprings is in for a rude awakening, and he has to decide which side of the war he is going to stand on.

Bravo!

This is actually a well written story. Thoroughly enjoyed the adventure. The story is the star and the harem plot plays second fiddle. Imo, this story would be 10x better without the harem elements. Most of these books are written with sex as the only plot. The adult situations in this one can be skipped through (if you don't care for them) to get back to the amazing story. Solid 4.8 and worth the credit spent.

Great Book

I really enjoyed the book and the audiobook version didn't disappoint. This is one of my favorite harem cultivation series. I definitely recommend giving it a shot.

Amazing story, bad audio

Being that this was recorded during the height of the pandemic i can understand why the editing and audio might be sub-par. If u get past the minor mistakes in the book it is still great.

fantastic opener

this is the second series that I have listened to from this author. I like the first one well enough to see what else the gentleman had available and chose this one. I got to say I think he did a fantastic job writing it and I'm familiar with Christians narration and now that he's paired up with hazel hers as well. I think they do a fantastic job as a team. And I'm looking forward to their future works. Keep up the good work.

Love the action

Listened to the whole book. Narrators did a good job, some recording mistakes. 2 rereading of the same sentence and 1 narrator mistakes. I forget what word he says but it's a key word that he uses to redo his line and edit it out. Around the 10 hour mark I think.
All and all a great book to pass the time while at work, will definitely get the next book when it comes out. Hopefully soon.

Great, just a few minor gripes.

I really did want to give this five stars, but a few compounding things held me back. First, however, let me preface this by saying that this is my first foray into a cultivation story, so I have nothing of its like to compare it to...but I do know what a good book looks/sounds like.

1. The Narrator sounded kinda...bored. His male voices were alright though which kinda saved it for me in that aspect. On the flip side, the female voice actor was great overall (especially Aurora, the main Mana Beast; she sounded like a goddess), though her portrayal of older women all kinda sounded the same. The characters themselves were all lively enough to mostly offset this.

2. The story itself was great, somewhat fast-paced as it was. With that said, some things were left pretty vague and it felt like we (the readers) were just supposed to let these things slide without any explanation. This is the first book in the series though so I won't knock it too much for that; plenty of time to flesh that out later.

3. The need for editing is obvious. It's not so bad that you are totally taken out of immersion, but you will definitely notice it.

4. This goes along with #3 and is less a gripe and more funny, but I have to mention it. There is a point later in the book, during a somewhat steamy session that the Narrator repeats the same sentence twice, pauses, seemingly (and I swear audibly) turns the page on his script, and then keeps reading like nothing happened. OMG, it was so worth being torn from the scene in my mind for that laugh I let out! Others might call that unprofessional or something, but God damn was that funny in the moment!

Overall, I still loved the book and I hope to see the next one on Audible soon so I can snatch it up!

Worth the money and definitely worth the credit.

Overall, I really enjoyed this audiobook. If you like "The beginning After The End" you will like this one. My only gripe is that narration is a little dull and the female voice kind of sounds robotic. Otherwise, I am certainly looking forward to the second book.

meh Because this bastard has it too easy.

narration more than decent
writing ok no real complaints
plot could be going somewhere

The protagonist has it far too easy for me to not hate him. Pure and simple.
