Graduating was tough, but the 30-year reunion will be deadly.
A group of estranged friends, now in their forties, reunite in Gerlach, Nevada, for their 30-year high school reunion at the time of the annual Burning Man Festival.
They soon find themselves at the heart of a viral apocalypse and are forced to rely on the very people they were at odds with to survive.

LIKED: STORY, PERFORMER, EFFICIENT WRITING.
DISLIKED: TOO SHORT, HARD TO FOLLOW WHO WAS WHO (ARE THEY REALLY NPC'S?)
MIXED: MORE GENERATIONAL REFERENCES FOR THE NOSTALGIA ANGLE WOULD BE NICE
DISTINCT BUT NOT PRETENTIOUS....LIKE THIS HEADLINE

I loved how everything starts in the past and then wraps up its connection to the rest of the story.
The characters seem real and you can understand their lies to each other.
Insects in the desert…. Dancing, drugged up kids enjoying a festival…. Sounds like trouble to me!
Miles Meili did a great job with narration.
Great story, where is book 2?

I love these 1novel only stories because they seem to get more to detail characters has better build up cuz he only has one book to do it in and I think it's just a lot better than the books with multiple books in a series. a one book series doesn't give you a chance to get bored with the series some books can just go on and on and on. But when it's only one book it really keeps you excited all the way to the end. you're hanging on the edge of your seat holding your breath all the way to the very last word.I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. If you like books with a lot of action. and a lot of amazing funny lines it's funny characters with great storylines if you like a great book that doesn't have too many curse words and it's a good book I say for teenagers as well it doesn't get too graphic and it's not very inappropriate the language is kept to a minimum and there's not very many gory graphic details. I'm a person that doesn't like too many graphic gory details. on this book is just perfect doesn't have too much of anything it's got just enough of everything you would enjoy, in a multiple book series but all in 1 book. Good Job, Jack Hunt you do it again!!!!! Another Masterpiece!!
Another Amazing One Novel Story!!!

The narrator did a superb job, picking up different dialects and intonations for the various characters, making it easy to recognize the back-and-forth banter in a conversation.
My only complaint is that the author used the terms “Marine” and “soldier” interchangeably. We are not the same.

This was a great entry into the genre, with a fun twist and many references.
good character development in a short time. I'm hoping for more books in the series.
performance was also very well done.

Very good story in the apocalyptic event category

I like Jack Hunt's unique take on the traditional viral zombie outbreak. I especially like that the characters, while trying to survive the murderous festival-goers, are also figuring out the cause of the outbreak and searching for a way to stop it. I'll say here that I don't see any way that this book is a standalone novel. There are too many dangling plot threads left at the end. The reader needs Hunt to provide at least one more book to tie them up.
With the setting of a class reunion, Jack Hunt writes a diverse collection of characters. When the Burner-zombies come to town the reader is treated to an interesting look at how different people react to the situation. The plot starts slowly, introducing Miles and his fellow reunionees, but once the action begins, it continues at a nail-bitingly fast pace to the end. I thoroughly enjoy Hunt's storytelling and look forward to seeing more of this breakneck zombie thiller.
I can't speak of Miles Meili's narration highly enough. I love everything I've listened to him perform. This book is no exception. His reading style perfectly suits the tone of Jack Hunt's writing.
Highly recommended.
