Robert Iger became CEO of The Walt Disney Company in 2005, during a difficult time. Competition was more intense than ever, and technology was changing faster than at any time in the company’s history. His vision came down to three clear ideas: Recommit to the concept that quality matters, embrace technology instead of fighting it, and think bigger - think global - and turn Disney into a stronger brand in international markets.

Story
Almost everything you know about Mickey Mouse is wrong: He wasn’t Disney’s first star; Steamboat Willie wasn’t his first movie; Mickey wasn’t a nice guy - and Walt Disney didn’t invent him. In 1928, two very different best friends invented Mickey Mouse. And the success tore them apart. Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks’ friendship is a story of betrayal, love, war, money, power, tragedy, intrigue, humor, despair, and hope. You’ll love them both - when you don’t want to drop anvils on their heads.

Story
Hounded by the tabloid media, driven from his self-made sanctuary at Neverland, Michael Jackson spent his final years moving from city to city, living with his three children in virtual seclusion - a futile attempt to escape a world that wouldn’t leave him alone. During that time, two men served as the singer’s personal security team: Bill Whitfield, a former cop and veteran of the security profession, and Javon Beard, a brash, untested rookie, both single fathers themselves. Stationed at his side nearly 24/7, their job was to see and hear everything that transpired.

Story
A peaceful mountaintop setting crucially removed from the constant scrutiny of the press, Camp David has served as both a site of critical diplomacy and unparalleled tranquility. It is where President and Mrs. Reagan rode horses through the mountains, where Gerald Ford could take a moment to jump on a trampoline with his daughter, where Nixon rode shotgun with Soviet President Leonid Brezhnev, and where Jimmy Carter could find the ultimate flight-sledding - only to break his clavicle two weeks before the end of his tenure.

Great Story with some catches
The story is great and very interesting. Downside are the regular audio artifacts.. some places the audio stutters badly. Other areas there are a lot of sounds from the Windows OS and some other sounds creeping like someone talking or music then immediately cuts out. Happens throughout the reading. Distracting but doesn’t take away from the story too much. Still listenable.

Fix the audio
The story was interesting, but I could not get past the incredibly awful presentation of both the sound production and the somewhat stilted and clumsy narration. C'mon Audible, quality control!

I want to clean Disneyland
I read other reviews about the quality of the narrator and I agree that it was not the best I have ever heard. Nevertheless this book was fascinating and it made me think about the sweepers that I pass when I am at Disneyland. I just walk by as though they were invisible but I’ll bet they have some great stories.

Great Listen, Poorly Narrated
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed this "book" even though much of the information was information I already knew. Unfortunately, the narration is horrible. The clarity of the recording is one issue, and this is compounded by a very poor narration. The narrator sounds as if he were reading the book for the first time, which, given he is the author is confusing. There are needless breaks in sentences, mis-pronounced sentences, and stumbles over the words. Additionally there seems to be no consistency between pausing between sentences, heading, chapters, etc. In some places they run together, and in others there are gaps that just do not make sense in the context of what is being said. This is truly a case where a professional narrator would have made a good book great, and a poor narrator, made what appeared to be a good book, poor.

Touching and informative
A great look into the lives of castmembers. Audio quality was to be desired in places. The book starts out to be very mechanical in explaining the day to day. however as you get further into the book they begin to tell wonderful stores that are funny and can be touching at certain places. It definitely gives you a perspective on what castmembers have to deal with at Disneyland and makes you far more appreciative as a fan of what they do.

More conversation than audiobook
I could definitely see where this book is hit or mess. I enjoyed the story but struggled with the narrator due to long pauses and mispronunciations. Once I took the point of view of a grandpa sharing a story with his grandchild and not an audiobook I enjoyed it.

Terrible narration
I want to lead by saying I love listening to audiobooks. I have over 100- all from Audible. While the content of this story is potentially interesting, this is the worst narration of an audiobook I've ever heard. Simply put, it is not up to Audible's quality standard.
The narration has a background gain hum- as if it was recorded quietly and then the master volume turned up to be in normal listening range. This hum is annoying and distracting but it also makes the narrator's breaths and swallows painfully obvious.
The reader also seems to be reading this book for the first time. Occasionally stumbling over words and off sentence cadence. The reader coughs a few times and clears his throat. These elements make the book hard to listen to on a long car trip where the blemishes feel obvious.
This book came highly recommended, but due to poor recording quality, I must recommend against this audiobook.
