About this listen

For many, drug interactions are one of the most frustrating challenges in family medicine, geriatrics, and ambulatory care practice. Even if one is up to speed on what drugs interact with one another, it is often unknown how to manage that specific interaction. Throughout the book, I share some of my management tips and pearls to help you feel more comfortable with managing drug interactions. This book is a perfect piece of education for pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, and nurses who are looking to pick up clinical, real-world practice pearls.

Trying to listen to this book but it’s difficult when the material involves large lists of patient medications. Unless I’m writing all of them down, it’s difficult to follow. I’d recommend buying the physical book rather than the audiobook, you would get much more out of it.

Probably a good read but a difficult listen

This is a practical, insightful look at common drug interactions encountered in clinical practice. As a pharmacist working in primary care, I get asked about drug interactions on a daily basis. I especially appreciated the chapter on supplement drug interactions as these often seem to be overlooked. Thanks for reminding me of things I may have forgotten along the way. Overall, an excellent and easy listen.

I really appreciated this clinical overview of common drug interactions. Dr. Christianson includes a lot of cases, which really helps the listener understand how a real patient can be more complicated than a textbook case, and he also demonstrates how there sometimes isn’t a single “right” option for handling an interaction. It covered a lot of important material.

Great Clinical Review!

Listened to this audiobook on my commute. It is a great overview and refresher on common drug interactions. I often found that things that I listened to came up later that day in clinic! The audiobook was an efficient way to listen to all of the content. I would consider also purchasing a paper copy to use as a reference in the future! Contained many great examples and case studies. The explanations were all in very user friendly language.

Great reference

The author has a unique way of explaining pharmacology through story telling. His anecdotes help us understand the most common classes of drugs. Highly recommended for everyone, not just health care professionals.

An amazingly resourceful book
