Publisher's summary

Detective Isaac Bell faces an attack on the Federal Reserve in this all-new adventure in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Clive Cussler.

1914: As America’s century of dominance dawns, the country’s greatest detective, Van Dorn agent Isaac Bell, is pitted against a master thief and his assassin accomplice. They’re plotting to pull off the greatest heist in America’s history: the theft of a billion dollars from the newly created Federal Reserve.

When an aerial attack is launched against Woodrow Wilson’s yacht during a meeting among the Federal Reserve’s branch leaders, Bell thwarts it, only to find that the strike was just the opening of an even deadlier gambit. It’s up to Bell to find the link between the attack, the mysterious death of a Newport heiress, and growing evidence of an unimaginably audacious heist.

Double-cross and betrayal are Bell’s stock and trade, but this time, the deeper he delves into the puzzle, the less he seems to understand. He is in a race against his most ruthless opponent yet, to prevent a financial panic that would bring the United States to its knees.

Excellent!

My favorite Cussler series is Sam and Remi Fargo but these Bell books are great. And this book is among the very best of them all! I especially loved the diabolically clever criminals. Bravo!

Another Stellar Story

Jack Du Brul has delivered another great action-packed Isaac Bell story. Bell matches wits with a clever and diabolical villain. Very entertaining! As always, fantastic performance by Scott Brick.

Absolutely fantastic

I am never disappointed in the Isaac Bell series. Planes, trains, automobiles and gun fights.

Brick

I loved this book. I always enjoy Scott. Brick as the narrator. I also like the writing of Clive Cussler and Jack D Bu. Long time listener and will continue to be so of this group.

Isaac Bell’s deduction skills were Sherlockian

Just when you are tempted to think Holmes is being ripped off… you’ll be mistaken!

The over dramatic reading by Brick. Again.

Great story. Stole a gimmick from a csi episode, but... Still good. Filling out the word count to make audible programmers happy.

Quintessential Du Brul with Philip Mercer as a guest Isaac Bell

Clive and Jack were/are the pinnacle of exquisitely architected writing with unique backstory starting points combined with innovative plot mechanisms. Albeit formularic at times, but entertaining, with audacious exploits and frequent what the ? twists that send the story rollicking off in unexpected paths.

Won't give anything away, but the VanDorn motto veracity is again proven.

Would love to read about the resulting adventure based on Isaac's grandson, as the current head of the VanDorn agency, recruiting Philip Mercer to help solve a case.

Sorta far fetched.

Good book story. Scott Brick is best narrator and can salvage this long story line

Another great Isaac Bell novel

Best of the Clive Cussler series- as it’s set in the early 1900’s, it doesn’t get bogged down with technical details like some of the other series. Great characters and historical details are interesting.
