Witty and Poignant in Turns

I've been choosing a fair number of short story collections during the pandemic due to COVID brain. Apparently my COVID brain has been bad enough that I'd forgotten I'd listened to this collection three years ago. It's still a great collection. Funny, spooky, poignant.

Quaint old style moral tales,droll

The performer was excellent, his use of accents and pacing was remarkably good.
Wilde’s stories were old fashioned (no great surprise) and predictable. A good listen if you need something dull before sleeping!

Glad I gave a listen.

I definitely liked some stories more than others, but enjoyed each one. Most had humorous elements and some stories had a moral to them. Glad I had this as my second book when driving across Tennessee. But if I was the producer, I would have had the two voices alternate stories instead of changing voices half way through. That would give a cleaner transition between stories.

Charming style but...

Stories are weak and I didn't care for the fairy tales at all. Excellent narration, however.

Hilarious and touching stories

Short stories and several children's fables. The story of American family and the ghost had me laughing out loud
All the stories explore aspects of love in all its wonderful, crazy, sad forms.

Very Poor Recording

I would read anything by Wilde, but listening to this poor recording was torture.
