Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. this book provides an easy to digest foundation for best security practices, and lots of terminology the readers may be unfamiliar with. If you are studying for the test, do not rely only on this book, as it is out of date, and only meant to be supplimental.

Any additional comments?

An up to date version would be wonderful, for the SYS-401

Out of Date, but good foundation

Loved listening to this. I was able to follow along with ease. Paused the audible whenever I didn’t understand a word, researched it further to get a better understanding, and pressed play to continue with that lesson. Easy to manage and convenient.

Since I’m at the beginning stage of making a career change, this is what I’ll be listening to whenever I’m not reading or watching YouTube videos on Sec+. It’s a good filler.

Needs to be updated

I have the newer books and the newer curriculum and the newer everything else. But I downloaded this audiobook to listen to while I'm driving in the car.

For that purpose this audiobook was perfect. It's not the newest information, but it's good foundational information that helped me supplement the newer books that I already have. For that reason I recommend this audiobook.

Older info, but good info.

I downloaded this book to study for the exam without checking the version - totally my bad. Still, even though the material was outdated for the 2019 exam, it was helpful as a base of study for me. I recommend this book as a supplement to other books for exam study.

very helpful - beware the version

I hadn't studied computer security except tangentially before listening to this audiobook, and I feel like I know a little bit more about it, now, but not much.

The lecture series is presented in a somewhat organized manner, but it becomes annoying to hear, "This completes this lecture" over and over again. The narrator is so boring that unless you increase the speed you will fall asleep.

The material was good, but I didn't think that it delved into the more technical aspects of security. The lectures focused more on terminology and general security theory. Overall, this is the least helpful of the CompTia lecture series audiobooks that I've heard, but it was a good terminology primer for learning about security issues.

Good review, narration is horrible

This book attempts to cover an extremely large topic in a short amount of time and succeeds in getting that information out. However I think this lacked a good amount of context to the information being presented along with examples to help the listener understand the material.

A lot of great information, very fast

like the info provided. but could really do with out the announcing of chapters and announcing of the end of sub topics. it did get annoying.

it's OK

My only real complaint with this series is the narrator. Not only is his voice not very appealing, but he frequently stops mid-sentence to find his place on whatever he's reading from. Compared to the Network+ series, the Security+ recording is not very engaging.

As far as actual content the audiobook does a fine job of outlining important subjects presented on the exam.

An acceptable summary of Security+ exam content.

Recommended for those who want to learn more high level about the different topics or revise their knowledge.

Covers a lot of areas but high level
