About this listen

The names have been changed to protect the innocent. Though, as you'll see, none of us were innocent.

I was part of an online community that went rogue, real world, known by your face and not just your handle.

I’d like to say I dated a few men. That would be a lie.

From the motorcycle-riding cutie with the washboard abs, to the strip poker game that ended up being a night permanently burned in my brain.

I dated them all and more—a couple of them suggested there should be an anonymous group to get over me.

They were all a lesson I needed to learn or at least a step toward the one I belong with.

Nobody ever said that following your heart wouldn’t take you through an obstacle course of men before you discover and could appreciate that maybe “The One" had been there all along. That the love of my life could accept everything I’d done and where it had taken me.

The fact is, he had a plan all along.

All he wanted was me.

My only goal was to have fun. I lived for the excitement and adventure. I experienced everything and everyone. It was all my journey that lead me to where I belong.

This is where my confessions begin....

This was the first Naomi Springthorp book I have read. This book is about Kate. Kate is an Online dating junkie. She had very specific rules for herself. This book follows Kate through her stages of dating and love. Was her one true love there from the very beginning? This is a very unique book. Lila Winters did a great job narrating this book.

This was not what I was expecting but still overall a good listen. I thought this would be more of a rom com type of a read / listen but it's more of a dating diary told from the perspective our of main female character Katie. Her tremulous love life leaves us as a reader / listener eager for her to find her HEA amongst the "dogs" that are trolling the online chat rooms. I love that this takes place as the internet and chat rooms were first introduced, I also like that Katie addresses safety factors even if she doesn't always follow them. I do like that she values herself and puts herself first on several occasions - spends time with the girls and values them and her time with them. Sista's over mista's and all that! Narration was very well done I just wish there was more of a humor factor that went along with the storyline but loved the HEA.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.

This is a unique story in that it is really is almost like reading a diary. Kate has an addiction to online chatting for sure. When she did meet someone in person then she had us rooting for them. As time passes by we see more chats and meet ups, always wondering is this the one? The narrator was good however I am not a fan of narrated texts and emails…it kind of drove me nuts.

Kate and everyone else…

Confessions of an Online Junkie is written as a diary. Chats and texts are told to us. The title and synopsis caught my eye and I was expecting to listen to laugh out loud, smexy audio. The writing style was intriguing and I expected to love listening to this. I enjoyed it, however, unfortunately, I did not find it as humorous as I expected.

Lila Winters tone is really good choice for narrating this story. Her male and female inflection were very good. My only complaint is I felt she used a monotone and express the highs and lows as well as I would have liked. I enjoyed listening to her sweetly toned inflection.

I can't even pinpoint what it was about this book that I didn't care for. Maybe it was just my mood today but I was bored while listening to this. I may try to read it instead since it does sound really good!

Not my favorite

This was my first Naomi Springthorp's book. This story is different than what I have read before. Kate's online dating is steamy. She is feisty, and unapologetic. Her desperate determination to find 'the one' is intense. The story is told like a diary, and from chats and texts. The writing is original. Lila Winters did a good job with the narration. #TheFlock

Confessions of an Online Junkie by Naomi Springthorp is a romantic comedy that I listened to on audio narrated by Lila Winters.

This is the first book of Naomi's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I loved Kate's confessionals! I really enjoyed that each chapter was broken down by the guy she was dating or chatting with at the time. I was hooked and couldn't wait to see who she finally ended up with.

Lila did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like romantic comedies or contemporary romances.

OK this book was pretty good. It did get me a little frustrated when she couldn't make up her mind who she wanted to be with . but I am glad that she ended up picking Will I think he was the best choice, hes the only one that was there for her her and waited for her even though he knew she was out and dating other men, he loved her dearly and never stopped so I am glad that they ended up together She deserved happiness she did get her heart broken one too many times after all.

Katie is a young woman who has found a community through on line chat rooms. Exploring a number of relationships and is careful in providing her telephone number and not letting men know where she lives until she is assured of safety. She meets and casually dates often with an intimacy factor. Disappointed by many of the men by their inability to last in a relationship for long.
I believe this is a pretty realistic look at on line dating, although I’ve never done it.
My first book by this author...well written and the narrator did a good job. A Happy ending which is always appreciated and no truly broken hearts.
