About this listen

David A. Clarke Jr., known by many as "America's sheriff", navigates the choppy waters of race relations, religion, politics, and law enforcement, sharing what it will take to once again become a great nation under God, with liberty and justice for all.

America has become increasingly divided and polarized in recent years. With growing animosity toward law enforcement professionals, government corruption, disregard for the constitution, and racial tension thanks to the media and hate groups, there seems to be no easy answer in sight.

But Sheriff David Clarke knows where we must begin. We must stop blaming others and take ownership of our families, communities, and country. We must face our problems and turn to God for solutions.

Cop Under Fire is not a dry recitation of what has gone wrong in America. Deeply rooted in his personal life story, Sheriff Clarke's unmatched passion, conviction, and patriotism is a rallying cry for our country. "America's not perfect. But it still offers every American, black or otherwise, who is willing to work hard, the best chance of experiencing our full potential as human beings," writes Clarke. "The challenge is to work for a better future without being fixated on the ugly scars of the past."

Sheriff Clarke is a straight-shooter

Sheriff David Clarke does a good job of sharing where he's coming from, and why he thinks the way he does now. His popularity stems from a no nonsense, straightforward honesty, and dialogue that makes no apology for his conclusions and advice.

Through the eyes of truth and reality.

David A. Clarke was incredible outlining the issues in America between media, government and lost communities. He was very informative in helping the reader or listener see the true motives of organizations such as Black Lies Matter and the hate they install into the lives of others who don't have the actual facts of a situation. I would recommend this book to anyone wether they are in Law Enforcement or a citizen to a broken community.

Calling out the Consequences of Remaining Divided

You cannot watch the news and get the whole story any more. You get the story of someone trying to push an agenda who will then take no responsibility when they are wrong. They want to feed and fuel the fires that divide us.
the reason why? Control. Complete and total control. If you are an American citizen you are a threat to every politician because you have the authority to take away their power, but you refuse to do so. Why? Because you are too busy fighting other Americans. You are fed stories to keep you angry and keep you separated. You are told people are different because of skin color, or religious beliefs, or sexual preference, or their economic status. As long as we fight each other, we are no threat to them, so they keep us fighting. One way to do that? Convince you police are out to kill you. This book explains the dangers of believing such rhetoric, and why it's not true. This is the insight from a man who has been on the streets for 40 years. If you are asking yourself why should you consider what he has to say, let me ask you this: If you went to the doctor and his secretary told you that you had cancer, but the doctor said you did not: who would you believe? Do you believe the person sitting behind a desk running their mouth, or the professional medical doctor? If your answer was the doctor, then listen to Sheriff Clarke's PhD in police work and not the newscaster.

A great book!

Sheriff Clarke's book is a great read, and it was cool to hear it in the Sheriff's own voice.

Dedicated To Law Enforcement

David Clarke Jr. is definitely a dedicated man to his cause. What really shocked me watching and listening to him on Fox News is that he still calls himself a Democrat. But he also refers to himself as a Conservative. So here we have a new breed in the political arena. A man who refers to himself as a black conservative and a democrat. I support David’s ideology, or at least to an extent. Even though he has a very conservative frame work to his ideology, which I support, he also has some odd quirky ideas about the security levels in airports and other venues based solely on someone being an law officer. I can not fathom what his issue with him going through security at an airport is. If you are off duty and not currently serving in the capacity of law officer but as a average passenger on an Airlines then you should go through security just like everyone else. Your badge should not give you special security clearance. He has a few other strange ideas about different things also but overall I support his philosophy. The book was an excellent read and powerful. It is definitely a read for anyone looking at our country and the problems that the police are facing because of the Obama administrations anti-police policies.

America's Cop

Sheriff Clarke relates the history of law and order in America as it relates to interactions with the black community and law enforcement. He does a superb job telling his personal story of growing up black in 1960's United States during the civil rights demonstrations, King and Kennedy assassinations, race riots and Viet Nam. His father's war service to the postal job leading to his respect for law enforcement. Damage done by Obama to race relations Black lives matter and the war on law enforcement. Public blowback Blue lives matter and Trump's election and hope for a new day.
