About this listen

How many people in America today are truly well-versed in the history of the Second Amendment, and why and how it was included in the Bill of Rights?

Dana Loesch gives her views on all that and much more, thanks to the research she offers in Hands Off My Gun. Fearless and fiery conservative talk show host, blogger, and TV commentator, Loesch digs deep into past, present, and future facts, attitudes, and actions regarding gun rights.

Hands Off My Gun is filled with research and detail. In addition to explaining why the Founding Fathers insisted on including the right to bear arms in the Bill of Rights, Loesch argues that "gun control" regulations throughout history have been used to keep minority populations under control. She also contends that current arguments in favor of gun control are primarily based on emotions and fear.

This narrative is a must-listen for every committed Second Amendment supporter. Dana Loesch is a determined and fierce advocate for those rights and shouts out with confidence: hands off my gun!

The smartest woman in America defends the 2A

What did you love best about Hands Off My Gun?

The details and historical references. This was very well researched and organized. Easy to listen to and follow. She brought in statistics from other countries that support her claims. She also brought a strong sense of hope for those of us who are very discouraged at the current state of our gun rights.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hands Off My Gun?

Any time she quoted a statistic that refuted claims of anti 2A types that "gun restrictions mean less crime". Example: when Chicago took everyone's guns away crime soared. When the Supreme Court deemed this unconstitutional and returned the guns the crime rates fell.

What does Dana Loesch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her passion for the subject matter and courage. I'm also a big fan of her radio program and I love hearing her talk. Sometimes her over-articulation and over-annunciation can be annoying but she speaks as if she demands to be listened to and understood.

If you could give Hands Off My Gun a new subtitle, what would it be?

Guns: They're Not Just for Men

Any additional comments?

Thanks, Dana for riding shotgun with me during my commutes this week.

A factually correct enlightening entertaining trut

This book goes through and explains why guns aren't evil and why it is important that the founders believed these rights were given by God not by man. Very well written and well produced a must have for anybody who wants to be informed on the Second Amendment.

A lot of fluff

50% of the book are just personal anecdotes. Although relevant, I’m not sure that they add much value to her arguments. I thought that the last few chapters in which she outlines the founders’ intent with the 2A, as well as debunking leftist myths, were most impactful. Great book and great performance in the reading by the author. In a lot of political audiobooks that I’ve listened to that are narrated by the authors, they tend to sound very monotone and boring. This was not the case here. Dana adds a lot of energy and humor to her reading.

Extremely Informative

Dana wrote this book from her heart and beliefs that coincide with my own. I loved that she pointed out the factions of anti-gun crazies and had the same love of the 2nd Amendment that I hold dear.

Nice job framing the discussion

Dana does an excellent job framing the anti-2A fight in the right context. My only critique would be that some of the material is repeated, but it is done for emphasis I'm sure. Good read and excellent performance. Her impersonation of that doofus British guy (P. Morgan) - was spot on. Jolly good! ;)
