Publisher's summary

Secret Service Agent Oakes Weaver is in the midst of the biggest assignment of her career - leading the advance team for President Andrew Powell's impending trip to Philadelphia where everyone expects he will be nominated to run for a second term. The last thing she needs is a tragedy among the president's inner circle that might not be an accident, or the sudden recruitment of Ari Rostof, a woman who might be a lot more than she seems. But Oakes doesn't get a say in policy, she only has to secure the president's safety - at all costs.

First Daughter Blair Powell and her spouse, Cameron Roberts, are among the reelection campaign members accompanying President Andrew Powell to Philadelphia. While the president may be protected by his Secret Service agents, those close to him are literally in the kill zone, and his adversaries will stop at nothing to further their cause - even mass murder.

wrong narrator

Detailed crossover story lines, but good grief the narrator just mangled the telling. There is so little difference in voices from one character to the next that it is somewhat painful to keep listening. It was really obvious since the entire series up to this book was done by Abbey Craden and she really distinguishes one character from another. Great book, not so good narration

Not my favorite

Ok story, not as good as the rest. Also, the first 9 books had a different narrator-Abby Craden, who I love. So WHY on the final book in the series would they switch narrators? The whole thing was just off.

The Honor Series Never Disappoints

I love everything about this entire series. Great characters. How Rad artfully weaves the same characters throughout all the books in the series then adds new characters with deft precision. This particular book combined the Honor Series with characters from one of her other series, and another favorite of mine, the Justice Series. No one writes like Rad. And if you love her books, this one doesn't disappoint.

The only think I don't like, is the change in narrater for this particular book. The entire series was narrated by Abby Craden. This book however was narrated by Keira Grace. And once you identify characters by their voices, given by a particular narrater, it's hard to hear from a different narrator. Especially since Abby Craden has a way with her character voices that really draw you into the story. Keira Grace however, doesn't quite have that knack and her voice, to me, sounds a lot like Siri is telling the story.

This entire series gets 5 stars from me because its amazing. I listen to all the books, all the time. And I'm sure in another story, Keira Grace would have been a fine narrator. Just give the entire series a try. It won't disappoint.

Narrator used

I was excited for the next book I. The series to come out. I was disappointed when the narrator was not the same as the other books. This narrator made the characters to feminine.
Just changed the whole perspective of the listening experience. If another book comes out I hope the original narrator is used

Different tone for Honor Series

I am not usually a reviewer when I give 4 or 5 stars. However, I wanted to this because of some reviews I have seen regarding the switch in narrators. I love an Abbey Craden narration and will listen to a phonebook narrated by her. Keira Grace brought a different tone to the Honor Series. It was softer than previous books. I think it works because there is less violence than in past Honor books. No one was killed other than Andrew's campaign manager. Craden tends to have a brooding voice and it was not needed in this book.
All of the main charcters, especially Cam and Blair seemed to be more calm and less harried when trying to find the bad guy.

Loved the story, hated the narrator

I have absolutely loved the Honor series by Radclyffe... After discovering her on Audible escapes about a week ago, I have plouged my way through all ten books and they have been a great source of entertainment over a summer break. She has a brilliant writing style with the ability to draw on all your senses with her descriptions. 9 out of ten books have received a 5 star rating from me, except this one.

The cost of honor was completely lost in the narration... It honestly sounded like it was narrated by Siri. Her voice was monotone and her dialogue completely unannimated (imagine a sex scene narrated by Google assist ... You're welcome!) and the quality of the audio sounded like sound fillers were added in mid sentence. I would have deleted it if it wasn't for the fact that I wanted to complete the series.

PLEASE bring Abby back!!

Waited a long time for a new Honor series...

Disappointing. Not her strongest book. Comes off as rushed. She usually has a good build up. Not so much on this one. This installment comes as a set up for the next one.

Narrator was robotic at times. Next book, wait for Abby Craden to be available please.

great Book

Loved the book, however had a hard time getting into it as they changed the narrator from Abby Craden and you get used to the characters and this new woman's voice is terrible. It ruined it for me.

Wow.

I could not get into the story or the book. Abby made the other books. The story was lost in the narration. I could not make it past chapter 7.

Abby was missed.

Overall, this one missed Abby Craden. It was difficult for me to get into the story after 9 others in the series. the difference in the characters tone of voice and pace of which the book was narrated made it hard for me to get into this one and stay focused.

I did love the plot with this one. but in hope the Radclyffe brings back Abby Craden though, this is the second book that she hasn't used her. it is very noticeable.
