** AUDIO REVIEW**

Blake works hard, plays hard and his car is his baby. Said car breaks down and is taken to Parker's shop for repair. Can Blake slow down, chill a little with Parker over the weekend??

A delightful, absolutely delightful way to spend 2 hours and 13 minutes! Its a perfect bath tub read, or in my case something to listen to while doing the chores. Its not a complicated plot, very simple, actually, and there is no major break up and make up. Its just a weelend with Blake and Parker, getting to know one another, falling out with family members and losing someone most dear.

There is a single love scene between Parker and Blake, but thats cool. Its very well written, and I use LOVE and not SEX, because to me, it came across, right there and then, that the love between them was growing. They never actually say the words, though.

A perfect hangover cure, bath tub/ lunch break READ if ever there was one.

BUT this is an AUDIO review. SO, its a little longer than a lunch/bath tub book, just over 2 hours. Jason P. Hilton narrates. This is the first of his work I have listened to, but it won't be the last. His (American) accent while strong, is not overpowering, his definition between characters is clear and concise, so you know who is talking at all times. The emotions of the characters comes across well, and in ALL the right places. Especailly during the above mentioned love scene :-)

I can't quite stretch to 5 stars for the book, because it is so short, but...

4.5 stars for the book, 5 for narration, 4.5 overall.

B- rating overall

My Review:
Overall: 3.25
Performance: 3.0
Story: 3.25

Sometimes stories really work for me in the audiobook format and sometimes they don't. This one didn't work for me. And I'm not sure how much of that was because of the story line and how much of it was because I really didn't enjoy the narrator on this audiobook. Honestly, I think a lot of my problem was in the narration. And it's not that the narrator is bad, he just used such a hick accent for Parker...I hated it and it made him seem like a stupider character than he really is.

The other side of it is that I just didn't connect to these characters emotionally. This is a short book. It's just over 2 hours in audio format, so that means it's really short. That's just not much time to become emotionally invested in what's happening to them. The book basically takes place over a weekend and that's about the depth of my emotional investment in the story too. It was quick. It was an easy read. But that means it's also easily forgettable For what it is though, it was fairly entertaining. Besides Blake's sister, I did enjoy what was there. I just don't think it's going to be something that will stick with my past next week.

But if you're looking for a momentary audiobook diversion, this one may work for you.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

AUDIOBOOK: Cruise Control

Blake meets Parker because he loves his car and is out on the open road - when it dies. Parker can fix it, after the part comes in. He is not officially certified to repair such an extraordinary vehicle. He does it because he is the only one in town who can repair.

Blake is really attached to his car and even calls it "Leon". He takes a lot of ribbing and jokes on his behalf since he is very vocal in the love of said car. He and Parker get to know one another rather quickly over the weekend, since he needs a place to stay. Parker is generous at heart and helps him out. After tragedy strikes, they know a bit more about one another than strangers would.

The attraction is there it is just a matter of acting on it. The fear is whether it will be reciprocal. Since they have so much in common, they quickly become friends too.

This audiobook is narrated by Jason P. Hilton. The book was quick and easy to listen to. His voice is clear and you can hear everything. His inflections and use of accents to tell who is who makes it even easier to enjoy. I found myself very entertained. My only warning is the content and language is not for those under age of 18.

An entertaining short story!

Would you listen to Cruise Control again? Why?

Yes I would. The story was short and very entertaining with very likeable characters. And the story was told by a very

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think Blake was favourite character. He was more brash and loud, more of a bad boy type.

What does Jason P. Hilton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Jason has a very soothing voice and is able to draw the listener into the story. I like how he is able to change his voice for different characters, but not ridiculously so, just to the right level.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The most moving moment had be when Parker is told that his grandmother had passed away, that was very sad. And then also when Blake informed him that he wasn't alone, he had Blake, that was a great ending.
