About this listen

It was all fake dating and games until my heart got involved....

I wanted to have the best summer ever. To have my first kiss and finally get my brother’s best friend to notice me.

So I talked my best friend Carson into helping.

He’d do anything for me, and I’d do the same for him. But somewhere between fake dating and pretending to fall in love with him, I fell for real.

And it was the dumbest thing I’ve ever done.

In the last four books of The Curvy Girl Club, Carson and Callie have stayed best friends. Now it’s time for a love story all their own. Start listening to Curvy Girls Can’t Date Best Friends today for a story sweeter and more delicious than honey!

Love this series

I love this series. My only criticism is the male reader’s pronunciation of words. And I’m not talking about his Canadian accent (although Carson is supposed to be from Texas and growing up in California so that was distracting). The way he pronounced words like Yosemite and Orion were just a few of the words mispronounced that were so distracting to me.

Best story

absolutely loved LOVED Callie & Carson's story. From kids to teenagers, it was one of the best stories in the series (so far). Just wish we could found out what he did with Grandma's ring!!

All the feels!

I absolutely loved how this one was written from both perspectives. It definitely hit me in all the feels. I laughed, I cried, and I sobbed. Especially towards the end of the book.
I absolutely loved this series.

Great story, male reader not so much

Loved the story, loved 2 points of view, whoever read Carson parts just doesn't fit right. I still recommend it, you just have to get used to his voice.

Great story. Callie is a bit too perfect.

I love the story of best friends growing up together and falling in love. The story was fantastic except that Callie is the epitome of a princess. She has perfect friends, lives in a perfect family, has the perfect job. It was a bit cringey. It pissed me off when Callie saw Carson’s “dark side” and she was shocked by it. What do you expect from a child raised in an abusive home? Callie is so pampered by everyone in her life INCLUDING Carson and her boss at work that she seems so far out of touch with the reality, especially regarding people raised in broken homes. Girls like this would be easy prey for f-boys in college. I was glad that she finally admitted that out of the 9 years they knew each other, she failed to truly understand Carson’s situation. It’s great when a main character admits heir faults. Great story though.

When Teenage Life Gets Real

If you have been reading the Curvy Girl series, it would seem unbelievable that one of its peripheral characters is struggling with something. This is possibly the most accurate storytelling of a teenager struggling with domestic violence. There is excellent writing in this particular story of Carson and Callie and the fact that it is written from 2 different perspectives lent itself to entertaining and yet poignant storytelling. The only thing I would change is the way Carson's mom seems to check out on Carson. Her apology was flimsy and I can see some real psychological trauma that Carson will have to deal with not just because of what happened with his dad but how Carson's mom seemed to mentally check out after she separated from Carson's dad. Of course, that is an understandable coping mechanism but it's significant to how the American parenting culture deals with trauma.

Finally Callie and Carson’s stories!

I’ve been waiting for this one! It was good! So much insight into the little glimpses we’ve gotten of them from the other books. Cute story.

So freaking sweet!

Loved loved the story line! Multiple times I wanted to smack the kids for their personal thoughts but it adds the will they/wont they twists to each chapter. Really liked the switching from his/her perspective! Love when books do this. I think it adds a lot to any story line. Love this series
