About this listen

It began with a kidnapping, a murder, and a phone call.

Albert Westwood, a.k.a. Nero, former British special forces sniper extraordinaire and ex-mercenary, just wants to live a normal life. Be left alone. The problem is, he’s a wanted man. A queen’s pardon for one more job could be just what he needs. But the job is deadly. He has to find and stop the current leader of a deep state organization known as the Peacemakers, whose goal is to bring about world peace even if it means destroying it in the process.

Cassandra “Casey” Wu, ex-CIA and current assassin for hire, has never been this angry. She’s been forced into her current assignment: a job she doesn’t want to complete. But two lives are depending on her success. Her new boss, a vicious predator will stop at nothing, including the murder of innocent lives, to achieve his goal. He’s also the man Westwood is sworn to destroy.

Wu and Westwood find themselves once again on opposite sides in a dangerous game. Under any other circumstances, they’d be trying to kill each other, but this time it’s personal. Can Westwood and Wu stop the Peacemaker before he achieves his goal?

Dangerous Games is the second book in Blair Howard’s gripping Peacemaker series.

Blair Howard writes a movie worthy Spy Thriller

Not sure if this is more Mission Impossible, Jason Borne, or 007, or what, but it sure is exciting and very well written.

I decided that since I am a big fan of Hoards Harry Stark Books I would try this and am very glad I did.

"A secret shared is a secret exposed."

Once again, Albert Westwood, aka Nero, is reluctantly pulled from his secret retirement to help his old MI6 boss, Jack O'Neill, tackle a terrorist conspiracy. His reward to be a pardon issued by Her Majesty, the Queen. This is book two in the series, and action packed with Tom Lennon narrating. His fine performance seems to perfectly inhabit Al.'s personality and his warm, lagubrious voice helps infuse the whole with both tension and calm to bring everything to life, although his English accents need a little work but are not overly intrusive.

My thanks to the rights holder of Dangerous Games,The Peacemaker II, who, at my request, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy of the book. Most enjoyable and Recommended

Excellent action packed thriller

This is what happens when you play with fire and kidnap the wrong family! The Peacemaker provokes Casey Wu after she fails to complete her assignment as an assassin for hire. Add in Nero, a deadly special forces sniper for the British government and ex-mercenary and you have an action-packed, deadly game of cat and mouse. Bent on getting a pardon from the Queen, Nero joins forces to help rescue Wu’s niece and defeat once in for all the vile and vicious Peacemaker. The only question is, can Nero and Casey focus on the job and let sleeping dogs lie?

Blair Howard, the author creates a vivid and rich world of spies, assassins, and evil men. I have not listened to the first book in the series but the was able to follow the second one easily. The plot twists were magnificent and well delivered. The dialog flowed smoothly between the characters and was realistic. I had a hard time putting the book down!

The narrator, Tom Lennon rocked! I was hooked when he spoke the words “and shot him in the face.” The way he lowered his voice at the word ‘face’ was so low you had to strain to hear it. While you knew it was going to happen and when it did it was still a shock! He knows how to work the narration in a way that continues to capture and hold the listener's attention. I cannot envision anyone else doing this book in such an entertaining and authentic manner.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys spy novels, this has everything.

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook. The sound was clear and well done.

the evil continues

Underhanded, corrupt, double crossing friends!! Some really emotional parts. Family members used as pawns and bait!!! Gutwrenching and suspenseful. I liked how strong and independent the women were portrayed except the obviously cray crays. The non stop action and drama had me catching my breath and waiting for more. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.
