Derivative

If you are a Jack Reacher fan, you know the allusion to Jack Widow's father carrying his toothbrush in his pocket is a way of saying but not saying Reacher is this guy's father. I am just not a fan of "In the world of.." fiction. Especially when the author is not anywhere in the world of the caliber of Lee Childs. Having said that I bought this audiobook, completely listened to said book and it will remain in my library as a one of... I will not purchase a sequel - I am not unhappy with it. I firmly believe that you should try things and not be deterred by reviews. "Liking" is relative. Give it a listen. You may love the series. I just could not get invested in the protagonist. The narrator is a very good choice and boosts the overall experience.

What a nice surprise 👍🏻

Very good story, very well written and Alan Philip Ormond has the perfect voice for Jack Widow. If you like Jack reacher then this is the series to try.

Just fair

The story was just so so. Kept wondering when it would improve. Not sure that I would listen to another Jack Widow book.

Nothing new.

Honestly it’s nothing that hasn’t been done better by the Jack Reacher novels. It offers nothing new. Even the voice acting reminded me of the Jack Reacher books. Meh.

Justice is served!

Jack Widow returns to his small Mississippi hometown when his mother is shot and dies. His mother is the sheriff. Jack’s investigation leads him to another small town and determining the truth behind the disappearance of several young women over time. Story starts off slow but picks up momentum after a few chapters. Moving on to the next book.

Love that it's like an offshoot of the Jack Reacher books

Thoroughly entertaining. Descriptive throughout! Demands the listener to be patient as story progresses. Hoped he meet his father in this book. Did not happen

I like it.

Personally I thought it was a great book. Very immersive and descriptive. I understand the people who say it's a Jack Reacher ripoff but that doesn't mean it has nothing of its own to offer. Haters gonna hate.
