Aww

I love books with children in them. This was fun listening to Harlow growing into a beautiful butterfly with the help of her hot protector

Horrible Narration

The story is wonderful—no surprise, as this is one of my favorite authors. She consistently delivers compelling plots and strong character development. However, the narrator unfortunately ruins the entire listening experience.

Her delivery lacks any understanding of punctuation, pacing, or emotional nuance. It's as if the book is being read by an emotionless AI. Every line—whether it's filled with passion, fear, humor, or excitement—is read in the same flat, monotone voice. This made it nearly impossible to connect with the characters or feel immersed in the scenes.

I ended up DNF-ing the audiobook and switching to the ebook instead, just to make sense of the story. It’s such a shame, because the book itself deserves so much better.

??

The narrator of this story did not do it justice. every character has the same high pitched whiny voice. The plot looked interesting but the story was disappointing overall.

narrator ruined it

The story was decent and the characters could have been great. the narrator completely ruined it. It's like they're was absolutely no punctuation written in to the dialog. it could have been funny. I almost couldn't finish it because of the narration. it was painful...

Not a fan of the narrator

The story was fine. And the narrators voice was ok, for Harlow (one of the main characters). But her performance needs work. Voices, especially for the men, were terrible. I won’t buy another book in this series if you use the same narrator.
