Publisher's summary

The small mountain town of Blue Ridge Valley is the home of three best friends, Jenny, Autumn, and Savannah. Each woman believes she has her life perfectly planned, but there is a saying in the mountains.... If everything is coming your way, you’re in the wrong lane.

In Just Jenny, Jenny Nance has a plan - save enough money to tour the world. The desire to traipse the globe is a dream she once shared with her twin sister. Jenny made a deathbed promise to her sister that she would go to all the places they had fantasized visiting together. Nothing will entice her to break her vow to Natalie, not even the sexy new Blue Ridge Valley police chief.... No matter how attracted she is to him.

Dylan Conrad left the Chicago Police Department to accept the position as Chief of Police in Blue Ridge Valley. Burned out and haunted by a tragedy of his own, he needs to get away from the memories tormenting him. He’s hoping to find peace in the small mountain town, but the quirky residents, an infamous moonshiner, an errant prized bull, and a feisty redhead by the name of Jenny weren’t quite what he had in mind.

Beautiful romance

I first read JUST JENNY, then decided to listen to it since Sandra Owens is a favorite author of mine. I really enjoyed listening to her other books. Although the voices weren't quite what I had envisioned in my head, the narrators were excellent. It ran like a movie in my head. Dylan and Jenny's romance was beautiful. Their stories broke my heart, yet I smiled and laughed often. Mary and Hamburger were colorful, hilarious secondary characters. The whole town is one you'd like to settle into and become part of. I'm looking forward to listening to the next book, ALL AUTUMN.

A wonderful start for a great series

This is the beginning of Ms Owens new series about three childhoods girlfriends now adults. Each hoping to follow their dreams.
The series is not only a departure from her previous series, but the style is as well. Each chapter gives the reader/listener alternate POV of the main characters . Not used to this format, it took me a little to get into the story but once I acknowledged the style, it was easy to be engaged not only in the story line but also in the townspeople and their uniqueness.
The story belongs to new hired Police Chief Dylan Conrad and Jenny Nance, a woman that will soon be fulfilling her dying sister’s wish to travel the world. But destiny has a different agenda as these two get involved.
Their individual story is heartbreaking . As time passes, their relationship evolves ,and while one of them starts to heal their emotional scars, the other one questions their plans.
Once again, Ms. Owens will capture your hearts and delivers a heartbreak but also heartwarming story filled with action, loss, hope and love.
The narrators were fabulous. I had read the book, but their delivery brought the story to life.
Another winner from this very talented author.

Just Jenny

This is the first book I have had the pleasure to read/listen to by Sandra Owen, and I was not disappointed. Confession .. I only listened because I wanted to hear Edward Thomas. (Swoon) I am so glad I did. This was a sweet, fun, and enjoyable story. I enjoyed this book immensely.
And of course the narration was perfect.

Enjoyed book until final 10 chapters

Nice, engaging story with likeable characters. Until... #spoilers

Final ten chapters (after Dylans issues were resolved).
Then it was Jennys long, overly drawn out drama - youthful death bed promise or your soulmate. So repetitive .
Jenny was really self absorbed & annoying, she couldn't see that both were attainable (even PD get annual leave!)
Narration good, especially male narrator: female narrators "male" vocals were lacking though.

0 stars for Felicity Hart. 5 for Edward Thomas..

Geez! This will be hard to review. It was written in the first person, yuck, BUT worst of all was the narration of Felicity Hart. Every single time it was Jenny’s turn in the book I cringed, because every single time the female narrator spoke as Dylan he sounded just like a girl. Not even the slightest attempt to sound manly. WTH is wrong with so many female narrators? This is 2019! At least try! As to Edward Thomas, he was a joy to listen to. He actually sounded feminine when he was speaking as a female. Good grief, doesn't the publishers or authors EVER listen to the female narrators and say NO not her! Who wants a hero sounding like a girl?

I’ll have to think really hard about listening to the other 2 books in this series. I don’t think I can listen to 2 more stories of men sounding like girls. For now, I’ll pass on All Autumn and Still Savannah.

As to the story itself? It was cute. I absolutely loved Dylan! He was one awesome cop. Jenny was kinda silly with her thoughts on choosing a promise she made to her dead sister about traveling the world, over a living Dylan, because her sister told Jenny she’s be there with Jenny. Um, no!

There was explicit sex in this book and the F-bomb was used 25 times.
