good

This story can be enjoyed as a stand alone but would probably make more sense in order.
I wasn't sure about a romance for Elizabeth's mother but it was quite good.
The narrator is good at conveying emotion.

It Put a Smile on My Face!

This Pride and Prejudice variation is the sequel to Fair Trade, and I'd recommend reading that one first. While this book could be read as a standalone, Fair Trade is a really great read with an outrageously wonderful Darcy proposal. This book begins three years after Lizzy and Darcy's wedding. They are planning to return to Hertfordshire for Christmas with their adorable little girl. Mrs. Bennet, now mistress of her own household, is missing her daughters and has planned a Christmas ball. She's still scheming to marry off Kitty, who is content to stay and run the tea shop. Kitty, meanwhile, is planning a charity bake-off, and a mysterious white dog is terrorizing the ladies of Meryton.

One of the things I loved best about the first book was the realistic and welcome maturation of the Bennet sisters. They each showed their own strengths while running the tea shop, and it was such a pleasure to read. This book was focused more on developing Mrs. Bennet's character, and it was wonderful. From the revelation of the beginning of her courtship with Mr. Bennet, to her longing for her girls, I loved every minute of it. The glimpses we get of Lizzy and Darcy's happiness were adorable, and I spent most of the read with a smile on my face.

The narration was perfect for this holiday read, Jannie Meisberger has the perfect voice for Pride and Prejudice variations. She performed speaking voices for each character and has such a pleasant reading voice. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Christmas with Elizabeth, Darcy and friends...

It's a novelette rather than a full-length novel, with the familiar characters of Elizabeth and Darcy, their families and friends, and some small additions to the old flock as protagonists. The plot is quite simple: Mrs Bennet is about to give a Christmas ball in her house and invites her daughters and their families and friends to participate in it. There is more fun to come - a cooking competition, a threat by a creature everyone calls "The White Ghost", and a quarrel between Darcy and Bingley over an apparently trivial thing...

The story is very Christmassy:) It gives you the warm feeling of the holiday being round the corner, with its spirit of well-wishing, of being charitable, of bringing good to everyone. What I like most about the book is the fact that it focuses on the character you least expect - Mrs Bennet, and that she is much more amiable here than she was in Pride and Prejudice. And there's a bonus: we finally get to know her first name and the story behind her marriage to Mr Bennet:)

Ms Meisberger's narration is perfect as usual, with the right amount of acting and emotion in dialogues and very well read narrative parts.

I wholeheartedly recommend the book for a nice Christmas evening - take a cup of eggnog, sit in a comfortable chair and just let yourself immerse in it:)

Different

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. Although this had all of the characters of the Pride and Prejudice this was the mother's story four years after the death of Mr. Bennett. The humor kept me listening and I loved the dog and the love interest. Mrs. Bennett's story before having her girls was interesting and interwoven into this version. She got her HEA after all.

It's not just about Darcy and Elizabeth...

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."
It's a refreshing look at the "Pride and Prejudice" story, that emphasized the role Liz's mother plays. Let's face it, not many of us felt sympathetic towards Mrs. Bennet's plight. This version of this classic, will change your mind. I've also liked the way the author dealt with the other members of the family. Great job! The narration was also superb.

Delightful

I have always been a fan of Pride and Prejudice and this is simply a delightful addition to it. I loved the way the original characters were brought back in a different and adorable way, but Mrs. Bennet even more! She was cast as a more lovable and truly showed she loved her family equally. But best of all, she finally found a true love.

The narrator did a fabulous job performing this audiobook. Bravo!
