About this listen

Elle Connor's life is as grim as she had always feared. Years of demon slaying have left her with nothing to show for her trouble. She's convinced a "normal" life was never meant for her.

Patrick Holt wants nothing more than to be away from the holy wars and has lived quietly for years as an average human. The trouble is that he's anything but average - he's a fallen hybrid angel.

When Tagas, the guardian angel, pairs them up to investigate the brutal slayings of young women in Los Angeles, Elle wants nothing to do with Patrick. As Elle and Patrick begin to understand each other, irritation is forgotten, and fiery passion ignites between them. "No ties" is how they both live, but Elle soon begins to long for much more. As they become sucked deeper into the mysterious killings, Elle fears that, in this battle, Hell will win.

Elle is all grown up

This 2nd installment in the series is much naughtier than the first and proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that little Elle is all grown up. The love scenes are much steamier, which makes sense because she is 7 years older now. The writing in this one has a much grittier feel to it than the first. Patrick could say things that made me bristle at times but I liked him overall. These novellas are too short for a ton of character development so the fast evolution of their relationship is understandable. Looking forward to part 3.

Hybrid angels and demon hunters

Dark Deliverance picks up five years from the first book. Elle is working in a preschool and still demon hunting as well. She meets a handsome man and finds out he is a fallen angel. Tagas puts them together until Peter's home is ready. There is a lot of women dying and Peter and Elle need to find out what demon is behind it.

This story is pretty good but still a bit short. We know nothing of what happened to Elle in the five years and not much about Peter. I think this story would have been so much better as a more developed full-length book. there is lots of potential.
