About this listen

It is night in Manhattan. The President of the United States is scheduled to have dinner with an old friend. In the building across the street, a man stands at a window, a rifle in his hand.

Fortunately, his assassination attempt is not successful - but this is only the beginning. Someone is recruiting a shadowy network of terrorists. Their range is broad, their identities masked, their methods subtle. White House operative Blake Johnson and his opposite number in British intelligence Sean Dillon set out to trace the source of the havoc, but behind the first man they find another, and behind him another still. And that man is not pleased by the interference. Soon he will target them all: Johnson, Dillon, Dillon's colleagues. And one of them will fall...

Jack Higgins does it again.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Jack Higgins has never written a bad book, Some are just better than others.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I've read almost every thing written by W.E.B. Griffen, Clive Custler, Nelson de Mille, Tom Clancy,as well as Jack Higgins.
I'm seventy one years old. Nothing keeps me on the edge of my seat any more.
Except perhaps

What about Michael Page’s performance did you like?

He talks English real plain!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Jimmy Cagney playing

Any additional comments?

Cagney and Dillon share common traits. Both are actors, musical, athletic, tough as a woodpeckers lips, and Irish as paddy's pig!

Good but a little unrealistic

Good but they seem to have the latest technology at times and other times seem to almost not be aware of its existence. Additionally people always seem to follow them yet they are always totally unaware. I guess I just feel with all there additional experience they still seem to found out so easily.
Still a good read even if somewhat unrealistic.

Good Story, Crummy Performance

What made the experience of listening to Dark Justice the most enjoyable?

I have enjoyed all of the Sean Dillon series. This one is good but not great

What did you like best about this story?

Not sure I liked anything best about it

Did Michael Page do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I have all but one of this series done by Michael Page. He does a great job but none of the characters sound as they did in previous stories. Ferguson has an accent that changes from Irish to Scottish when it used to be British. Johnson sounds more like Dillon did in previous books and Dillon has his Irish accent but does not sound the same as in the previous books

Any additional comments?

I will go through the rest of the books but I hope the next one I listen to has the characters sounding as they did previously

Voices changed

I've been listening to the Sean Dillon series from book 1. I got used to Michael Page's brilliant performances and this one is very good as well. He did change up a few of the character's voices though and it's taking some getting used to. I for one, think he should go back to Ferguson's original voice but it's still very entertaining.

Many changes

Would you try another book from Jack Higgins and/or Michael Page?

I love the other books in this series narrated by Michael Page but this one I can not listen to. Ferguson now has a Scottish accent and the whole performance sounds like it is recorded while sitting in an empty room or bath tub.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Have Michael Page do the narration again with the same accents as in previous books.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I think that Micheal Page is an excellent narrator but something went wrong with this reading or production.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Great disappointment.

Any additional comments?

I tried to listen but had to give up at chapter three.
